"DO WE HAVE A— ehm...do we have an aurora malfoy?"

"here." i spoke, pushing past the few younger years that stood in my way, though it wasn't that hard, considering i was much taller than them.

the professor, who's name i'd learnt was mcgonnagal, folded her lips. "you must be the sister of draco malfoy, correct?"

"his twin, actually." i grinned. "older, of course." i always tried to brag that i was the older sibling, much to draco's dismay. "it's two minutes?" he'd complain, but id only shrug him off.

"okay. miss malfoy, as you are a joining the older years, you will be sorted after all of young ones." the woman explained. "i'm sure you're aware of the different houses?"

i nodded. "slytherin, hufflepuff, ravenclaw, and gryffinpoor, correct?"

mrs mcgonnagal gave me a pointed look. "gryffindor."

i raised my hands up in surrender. "my mistake. its my brother— feeding me all these words." i scoffed, pretending to seem annoyed at my mistake.

she nodded. "yes, yes. anyways, the sorting ceremony is about to begin!" mrs mcgonnagal exclaimed to all the kids. "you will be called by your name, then you must come forth to the hat, and you will be sorted into your houses. there are gryffindor, hufflepuff, ravenclaw, and slytherin."

i was aware from my parents and draco that slytherin is a very hated house in this school— merlin, even people outside of hogwarts dislike the slytherin house.

all because of tom riddle— or more popularly known as lord voldemort.

quite frankly, i couldn't care less about voldemorts reputation, but that may just be me. don't get me wrong, though, he is quite intimidating— at least, face to face.

i must've zoned out a bit as i hadn't even noticed the doors were beginning to open until i heard a loud clang.

i watched in surprise as the large doors opened, revealing the large hall which held four massive tables, all filled with students in different coloured robes, and a long table at the front, where i assumed the teachers sat.

there were four banners that hung from the ceiling, each showing the badge to represent the four houses. as the doors opened completely, i caught a scent of all kinds of foods— from sandwiches, to fruit, to pies and desserts.

the hall held a warm, and cozy vibe, making my stomach feel a weird sensation...i think its comfort?

i won't lie and say hogwarts hadn't already intrigued me. from its outside appearance, to the overall interior, and even the feeling i got from stepping inside the large castle— all of it was pretty amazing.

i was brought out of my trance when a hand was placed on my shoulder. instinctively flinching back, i glared at the person.

my face scrunched up when i recognised the face to be none other than severus snape— a good friend of my family, and a professor here at hogwarts.

"mrs mcgonnagal thinks you should stay here until you're called up." severus paused. "i think you should go straight to slytherin's table, don't you agree?"

i smirked. "i do." i hummed. "but where's the fun in that?"

"there's no fun here, malfoy." snape spoke with a deadpanned expression before he walked off, heading to the hall.

"you're just a bundle of joy, aren't you?" my words pretty much went to deaf ears as the man walked into the hall, fully dismissing me.

i rolled my eyes at his antics and stood leaning against a wall besides the doors, waiting for my name to be called.
