It clashed on the ground. Thankfully, it didn't break. Inara picked up the jhumka from the floor and looked in the mirror again, to wear it. She had chosen her newest pair of jhumkas only for her first day in gurukul as a student.
She took a deep breath and looked at herself in the faint mirror. A second chance. A thing which people don't usually get. A thing people would cross oceans to get.
She was getting a second chance, and she promised to prove herself this time.
She still couldn't wrap her head around the fact that almost every subject was taught here, at a place which wasn't quite technologically... advanced. But she didn't worry much about that. Her subjects were quite un-needed at technology. She had chosen dancing and music, cooking, arts and craft, science, and philosophy and literature.
And she was going to make sure that she would own those subjects by her soul.
However, for Ruchya, making a choice seemed to be the toughest task. He wanted to learn all at once. He couldn't get enough of it. But even the timings of the classes clashed, and eventually, he had to choose. So he chose— Math, philosophy and literature, psychology, music, horse-riding, and weaponry. He wanted knowledge along with physical skills. Logic and stealth. The two weapons, which if combined, could destroy a world of worlds.
Suddenly, the warmth of the sun touched his skin, making him realise that he had walked out of the trees' shelter. The light illuminated a shadow of his silhouette on the ground, which suddenly was merged by another one.
Ruchya looked up to see Kavi walking next to him.
"Good morning!" He sounded very enthusiastic for someone who had woken up at 6 in the morning. The classes start at 7, which is nearly an hour after the first ray of light.
"Are you excited for today?" Kavi asked, his dimpled smile not toning down even a bit.
"Curious would be a better word, but sure. You can say that." Ruchya replied, and just then, Inara came out of her hut. As soon as she moved aside the curtain on the door, the sunlight fell on her face. The immediate exposure caused her to put a hand in front of her face. Slowly, she put her hand down as she walked out of the door, her payal echoing lightly.
Kavi smiled at her brightly when she joined them. She responded with a soft smile of her own. "Good morning. The philosophy class is in the main area right?"
"Yes! That's where I'm going too." Kavi replied.
"Likewise." Ruchya added.
"What classes did you choose?" Inara asked them both.
"Psychology, philosophy and literature, physical, arts and crafts and archery."
For some reason, archery was the one activity that really called out to him. It was like an arrow struck to him. Ironic, isn't it? He had never even tried archery before but he couldn't stop himself from choosing it. It was the only thing that kept coming to his mind when he was deciding what to choose.
Whatever he chose, He promised himself to try his best because for the first time in his life, he didn't have to chase a star but one had fallen right in front of him. And he damn sure wasn't going to let it become a fossil.
They continued discussing more about the classes and their interests as they walked to the main area for their first class.
Evara walked out of her hut, feeling the fresh morning air on her skin. She had just taken a bath and the air felt much cooler than it was. But she didn't really focus on that due to the fact that she was really hungry. But the breakfast here wouldn't be available till 8. So, she just had to find something else to keep her alive for now. And she knew the best place for that. Technically, the best person.
