season 1 episode 3 & 4
Vic sat in the the Heyward's boat as Pope followed the coordinates to the wreck of the Royal Merchant. Her curls were falling out of the bun on top of her head from the wind.
"Okay, switch it up. We're getting close." Pope said, stepping aside from the wheel. JJ took over as Pope walked over to the ROV. John B took over reading the coordinates, knowing damn well JJ Maybank would not be able to. Vic followed Kie to the side of the boat, getting ready to help with the tether.
"All right, JJ. Pin it here." John B called out.
"Roger that! X marks the spot."
"All right, ladies and gentlemen." John B held the camera over the side of the boat. "To going to full kook."
"Maybe not full Kook, just the rich part." Vic mumbled, causing Kie to chuckle.
Kiara fed the tether through her hand as Vic watched closely for the markers.
"Allright JJ, we're right over it. Ten seconds northwest."
"Got it! Ten seconds northwest." JJ copied.
"One hundred feet." Kie called out upon seeing the red tape. Vic marked the side of the boat with chalk.
A gasp from Pope made everyone jump.
"What? What?" John B asked.
"N-Nothing."
Come on, don't do that to me man." JJ said.
"My bad. I just thought I saw-" He shook his head as he got back in the zone. "And to quote The Hobbit, 'down, down, to Goblin Town. Down, down, you go my lad'." Vic tilted her head in confusion as the rest brushed it off.
"Four hundred feet!" Vic called out.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. What happened to two and three?" JJ called out.
"I'm sorry!" Vic said. Thunder rumbled in the distance and Kie paused.
"Tide's turning!"
"Hey JJ?"
"Yup?"
"Ten seconds easy. South-south east."
"Copy that!" The boat began to turn and Vic looked back at the boys behind her.
"JJ, 20 seconds mid-speed, all right? South."
"Copy that, aye aye."
"Keep the tether out of the prop!"
"I'm trying!"
"JJ, keep going." JJ looked back.
"John B is that good?"
"We're good!"
"Okay, missed a few but we are at seven hundred feet!" Vic marked another tally.
The thunder was getting closer and louder, causing the pouges to all look over at the dark clouds rolling in. The tide was increasing causing the boat to rock more.
"JJ, hold it steady!" The tether was rolling faster causing the girls to scurry to try and hold it.
"Nine hundred!" Vic called out.
"JJ, we'll turle in this storm."
"Nine-twenty!"
"Crank it north by northwest! Ten seconds." Vic lost her footing, nearly falling into Kie who was trying to pull the tether.
"There's too much current! We're gonna lose it!" Kie called.
"South southwest, JJ! Hard!" The teens were quiet as they focused. "Half speed. Steady at this bearing, JJ!"
