We stuck to our word of getting out of town the next morning. We changed our phone numbers and our existence in this small town we lived in. Packing up the cars and the moving trucks. We leave the town of Missoula behind us.
"How long is this drive?" I ask my dad who smiles at me. "About sixteen hours, get some rest your mother and I have it from here.""Rest? You want me to get rest? I murdered my friend and you two seem okay with it. I'm freaking out here!" I say while my mother turns to me with solace. "Sweetheart, you can't help what you are but we can help you live a life where you don't have to fear your true self. We love you and want to support you. Your parents wanted that for you. They wanted you to live on. Beacon Hills has been my home for twenty years before I moved away to college and met your dad. You're gonna meet your extended family here."
"Mom I'm scared what if I do it again? When I do it again. What if you both aren't there to stop me from hurting someone else?" I say leaning back away from my mom and looking out the window. "I will take blood from the blood bank to sustain you." My mom says and I look back at her. "You will get in trouble for that. I'll live off animal blood if I have to. The Cullens did that in twilight. It wouldn't hurt for me to try that at least." I say while my mom nods reaching into the cooler and handing me a pouch that's warm from the thermos. "Try it then and see. If the animal blood doesn't help we will do human blood."
Taking a hesitant sip, I let the blood roll into my mouth before I'm looking at my mom in distaste. Handing me an empty cup I spit it out and look at my mom. "Now we know." Mom says before handing me another blood bag. "It's your dad's blood."
"Okay."
The blood wasn't bad, it just didn't taste like my friend's blood. Hers was sweeter, my dad's is more tart. I lay back against the backrest of the seat and sigh. "It wasn't bad mom, I don't like this. I can still eat human food thank god." I say glancing at my mom with a smile. "At least I can still eat your roast I love so much."
Waking with a start. I'm sitting up and looking around. It's nighttime and I'm looking at my parents before seeing the sign of "BEACON HILLS."
"We're here honey." Mom replies from the drivers seat and I'm wiping the sweat from my forehead. "Nightmare." I tell my dad while sitting back. The town is barren and quiet and I'm looking at the clock to see it's eight pm.
"The house is just up ahead." My dad tells his wife and I'm looking as we pull up the driveway to a two story house. "Movers will be here tomorrow morning. I packed the blow up mattresses." Nodding at my mom we all get out and unpack. Unlocking the front door we enter in and I'm looking around at the spacious open floor plan of the first floor. "Look the Martins live next door still. They have a daughter your age Brea. I grew up with her mother." My mom tells me and I'm nodding before looking up the stairs. "It's a three bedroom, go look up stairs for your room." My dad says and I nod smirking at him. "Any room? So the master is up for grabs?"
"No, any other room but the master." My dad says and I laugh running up the stairs. Finding a room with a bay window, I smile and enter putting down my bags. "This will do."
The room is a a pretty olive green with rich brown hardwood floors. The crown molding standing out perfectly with the green walls. "Wow, nice pick honey. Your furniture will match well with this room." My mom says before going to my en-suite bathroom. "Even the bathroom is gorgeous."
Same hardwood floors, the bathroom is white with white counter tops, and the sink itself is white with brass splash. The shower is tiled with white and brown toned tile and brass splash and I smile. "I know you slept nine hours but your dad and I are going to sleep. Get some rest too. If you get hungry there's snacks and drinks in the fridge. Blood is in unmarked pouches in the back." My mom says before kissing my head and leaving.
Sitting down at the bay window with a pillow and blanket I lay back and look out. My heightened senses picking up on noises and conversation. Turning my head more to the sounds I close my eyes and listen.
"You should let the asthmatic hold the flashlight."
"Cmon let's just get up the hill and you'll get the flashlight."
"I should be in bed we have tryouts tomorrow."
"Yeah because sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort."
"I've been practicing all summer. I'm making first line."
"Have dreams buddy, even if they're pathetically unrealistic ones."
"Stiles!"
Tuning out the conversation with a small laugh I hear a knock on my door. "Your mom wanted me to inform you that you have school tomorrow." My dad says and I furrow my brows before sinking further in the bay window. "What?" Groaning I look at my father who shrugs. "We all have first days tomorrow." I gotta unpack with your mom. Head down to the precinct and your mom has to head to the hospital. "You can walk to school or drive. Up to you?" "Goodnight honey."
"Well isn't this just great."
Opening my suitcase I find a suitable outfit and head to the bathroom to unpack my necessities. I luckily packed a towel also and strip naked and take a shower. Not hearing the scream of pain in the distance.
