RED, BLUE, YELLOW, ORANGE AND GREEN—
if the tower looked magnificent from the outside, it was more magical when they stepped a foot into it. The burning sun and the shining glass with different hues created a cage, engulfing the whole place from top to bottom.
Their eyes glanced at the tall spiral staircase leading them towards the top floor with weary eyes. “you don't say there's a trap set up for us up there right?” Nirei asked with trembling legs. They have the most important task, there's no way it's gonna be that easy.
But with every step they take, the worries of having a trap jump from the wall was slowly dwindling into nothingness. It seems like the task was as easy as that.
“this place is really mesmerizing” Tsugeura mumbled, letting his fingertips caress the smooth glass, watching his skin change color from red to orange. “do you think it's some kind of abandoned church from a long time ago?” another one asked as they chorused a hum.
Sakura stopped at the last 3 steps, looking at the worn out door, a complete contrast to the extravagant display of artistic skills that was put on the walls. “are you gonna knock?” Suō asked quietly “OH! OH! I WANNA DO IT! I WANNA KNOCK!” a certain rowdy aesthetic obsessed boy made his way to the front without any regard from other people's protest.
“HELLO PRINCESS I'M KNOCKING AT YOU DOO— oops”
The boy robotically turned around with a guilty look on his face while the group of flabbergasted boys — except Suō who only smiled in amusement— looked at his face and then down to the broken door that's lying on the floor.
An eerie silence ensued, there was no movement or noise that resonated on the seemingly empty building. As soon as they got the courage to take their first step towards the wide room, a strong smell of chemicals and dried paint hits their senses, causing some to crinkle their nose in slight discomfort.
“this is quite disappointing” Kiryu chimed with tilted head. In contrast to the colorful array of color outside, the room looked dead. From the cracked walls and the obvious lack of light source. The place was in need of serious ventilation or someone might actually die from inhaling the air.
The boys let their eyes wander, using their phone torch to see what they were looking for. “I don't think anything is in here for a long time” Nirei muttered out “did we mixed up the location?” Sakura asked Suō who had his eyes fixed on something.
“what's wrong Suō?”
“there's noises somewhere”
Sakura quirked a brow at his comment “I don't hear anything, but if it helps, there's a window from the outside, I'm certain that there's another room” Kiryu pointed at the photo he took moments earlier.
Suō let his eye(s) wander around to somehow collect any sort of clue as to where that secret room was located. His feet carried him around the room until he found a certain gap where the sound akin to breaking glass resonated in his ears.
His hands carefully pulled whatever was concealing the area, before they were met with arrays of color.
It was not as harsh as the stained glass that turned anything its reflecting into a certain color, no, it was more beautiful than that.
The sun who seemed to eagerly peeked out of the tiny window above shine it's beam of light towards something that showcased the scattered light into the room. It created a magnificent golden circle that seemed to create a border from the dark room and the person who seemed to not notice their presence.
Their eyes fell on the girl — a girl wearing nothing but a piece of silk night gown, sitting on the floor, cutting away at the glass sheets, eyes hidded behind the dark locks that fell on her face.
“u-uhm excuse. . . me. . .” Nirei politely tried to get her attention “we're here to get some. . . wind chimes. . .” his eyes became teary when the girl didn't seem to acknowledge their presence.
Sakura on the other hand, was a little creeped out, but he wasn't having this kind of attitude.
“oi, just tell us where those damn wind chimes already!” he huffed, “Umemiya sent us here, now cooperate or else”
The boys were left gaping in both horror and shock, except Suō who's smiling like always.
“did you just say Umemiya sent you here?” a feminine voice resonated in their ears, blessing their soul with the melodic tune that came out of her mouth. “we're from Furin high school, Umemiya Hajime's junio—”
For a split second shivered engulfed Sakura's body, eyes wide open staring at the girl holding a now bloodied glass cutter. “S-S-S-SAKURA-SAN!? EHHHH?! YOUR CHEEKS!” Nirei panicked, running towards the boy who stood there like a statue despite the blood that's trickling down the apple of his cheeks.
Most of the Furin boys stood there frozen, unable to move a single muscle, afraid that they too will be attacked, but more so because of the crushing pressure that caged the enclosed space.
“Umemiya's. . . . junior. . .” the girl mumbled with venom laced voice “GET OUT OF MY TOWER THIS INSTANCE!” her voice sent vibrations, shaking the walls and their soul. Even if they actually wanted to get away from this situation, they physically cannot move their body.
Sakura's dual colored eyes studied the way her lips curled into a scowl, if her eyes were visible he's pretty sure it's sending one hell of a glare.
Luckily for them(and the tower), a couple of frantic footsteps was heard from the background, along with heavy breathing that belongs to a certain someone. “WHAT THE HELL IS TAKING YOU SO LONG?!” the familiar gruff voice that belong to none other than Hiragi interrupted the tension.
The man was ready to scold the hell out of the boys for breaking the door, but he momentarily stopped when he saw Sakura with a bleeding cheek and the town's beloved girl pointing a weapon at him.
He really needs to get more medicine before he die.
