Stress cleaning. When Darry couldn't sleep, he'd get up and re-organize, re-wash everything.

It's about three in the morning, he had been tossing and turning all night. He was both having nightmares and was worried about his brothers. Soon, he was up and standing. He tossed on some jeans and a t-shirt and headed downstairs.

He wandered the house for a  while, before deciding that the whole house was a mess. He started into the kitchen, opening all the cupboards and began to take out all the mugs and plates and other objects they had. Then he filled the sink and began doing the dishes.
About halfway through, he heard the groaning of the stairs, and saw two shadow silhouettes. "Darry, what are you doin'?" One of them spoke. Sodapop.
"Yeah, it's like, almost four, man." Complained the other, which would have to be Ponyboy.

"Go back to bed.." He grumbled as he kept washing the dishes. "I'm almost done."
He heard the two sigh, and imagined that they were shaking their heads. One of them headed back up the stairs, which he guessed was Ponyboy while the other, Soda, just stood there for a moment. "You should go to bed, Dar. Stress cleanin'?"

Darry nods and mumbles in return. "Yup. Couldn't sleep. What are you doin' up? Did I wake you?" Soda grunts a 'yes' to respond. Then his figure his heading up the stairs.

Now Darry was alone, in the dark, left with his thoughts. He sighed and quickly finished up, cleaning up the kitchen and putting the dishes back.
It was about five o'clock by the time he was back in bed. He got about two hours of sleep. Luckily, he hadn't had work that day, so he just had to deal with his siblings and friends. He woke up grumpy that morning.
