Rathore Mansion
It's been half an hour but there is no sign of him. She was sitting in the middle of the bed, covering her face with a veil. Suddenly a voice of someone entering inside the room came which led her to raise her lashes where she found her husband who was locking the door. She clutched her lehnga nervously and lowered her lashes.
He towards her and sitting next to her he forwarded a document in front of her. She raised her lashes and looked at him with confusion. “You need to sign this, it's our marriage contract. We need to register our wedding”, He said, placing the papers in her hands. She unveiled herself, unfolding the document and she ran her gaze on it. Surya handed her a pen. She looked at that piece of metal and bit her lips.
“Where to sign?”Tara asked calmly. “Here”, Surya replied pointing via his finger. She holds the pen tightly and writes her name on the paper in bold letters in hindi. Her writing was very poor, like a kid who is still learning how to write.
He looked at her poor writing with a frown and asked, “didn’t you know english?”. She bit her lips in embarrassment and shook her head while facing down. “What is qualification?”His question made her confused, she raised her and looked at him with a questionable look. “I mean how much did you study?”, he asked again.
“Up to eighth standard, it was the only girl school in hindi medium near our village which is only up to eighth standard”, she replied.
“How many years have been since you left studying”, he again asked.
“Nearly a decade”, Tara replied. Seeing her getting uncomfortable from his question, he asked anything further about her past life. He got up from the bed and went towards the wardrobe to the papers inside.
“Do you remember I have given an envelope”, Surya asked, turning towards her. Hearing him she got up from the bed and moved towards him. “It's in my handbag”, she replied. “And where is your handbag? I need that envelope, it's urgent”, Surya asked.
She looks here and there, trying to remember where she could have left it. “I have forgotten it in the car”, she replied after thinking for a moment. “Okay I will get that from there”, saying that he left the room. She came and sat in bed while resting her head on the headboard.

After around fifteen minutes he came back with her handbag in his hand. He came towards her sleeping figure and jerked her shoulder lightly. “Tara- Tara”, calling her name calmly, made wake up from her sleep. Coming out from her deep slumber, she rubbed her eyes and looked at him with a sleepy look.
“Can you give me that envelope”, forwarding towards her he said. She looked at the bag and then at him, “But you can take it, there is nothing personal in it”, She said and opened the zip of the bag. “It’s yours and it’s better if you gave it to me on your own”, he replied.
