Rathore Mansion

After completing all the post wedding rituals, she came into her room to take some rest. Just then someone banged the door and opening it she found a servant was standing there. "You have been called downstairs Badi-Bahurani", the servant informed to which she nodded and got outside the room.

Reaching downstairs she looked around and found the temperature of the hall heated. Everyone was looking tense. Sensing her presence everyone turned towards her with a look of tension. She looked at everyone being nervous.

Stepping aside in front of the main sofa Nitya gave her a way to step forward. Tara looked up and found an elderly woman sitting on a sofa like a queen. She was dressed in an ivory coloured banarasi saree with a pearl necklace. Her face had a stern look while she was holding a cup of tea. She put the cup of tea on the table and stood up. Looking at her with a soul piercing gaze, she moved towards Tara.

Tara looked down being nervous. The old lady came towards her. Holding her chin and raising her head up. "Beautiful", she said looking deep in Tara's eyes. She lowered her gaze.

A moment of dead silence spread across the room, but suddenly the old lady broke into laughter. "Did I scare you my girl", she laughed hard.

"Lavanya, I agree your son has a great choice", she said and turned again towards Tara.

Tara looked at her and sighs in relief. "What is your name?"the grandmother asked with a smile. "Tara Shek.., I mean Tara Rathore", she replied.

"Tara Surya Singh Rathore", Savitri Singh corrected. Just then her eyes met with her mother-in-law who instructed her to bend down to take blessing.

Tara gave her a small nod and bent down to touch her feet. Savitri creased her hair gently and said, " God bless you".

She stood up when Savitri patted her head and said, "you are an elder daughter-in-law of this family and now it's your responsibility to manage everything and take care of everyone".

"elder daughter-in-law who is the youngest in the family", Sikandar taunted standing at the threshold of the door.

Everyone's gaze shifted towards him, when the old lady spoke. "Maybe she is the youngest but you must not forget she is your elder brother's wife so in that way will be considered older than you".
