Chapter two // childhood

Charlie had died two months ago and it hadn't been the same since, I hardly saw Hayden anymore, he was always out or locked in his room but, I did see a lot more of Peter as he was always round my house. one thing that hadn't changed was mine and Jadon's friendship he had always been there for me and helped me a lot.

Today we were going out for a dinner and I couldn't wait to go as they told us they have a surprise.

I went over to Jadon's House, In the hope, the evening will come quicker. I walked across the road and knocked on their door "Oh hey Zuriel!" Sean smiled opening the door, Is Jadon free to play today?" I asked excitedly.

Just then Jadon appeared at the door. "Hey," I smiled. "Hi! Let me get some shoes and then I'll be out" he smiled running back into the house.

"How's your family doing Zuri? I've seen Peter has been hanging around a lot." Sean said.
"Yeah, Hayden could be better, but tonight we are going out for dinner and Peter and Mum have a surprise for us!" I exclaimed happily.

"Ohh wow that sounds cool, make sure to tell me what it is!" "okay, let's go, bye Dad," Jadon said walking out of the house.

"Bye stay safe you two!" Sean waved.
"We will bye Sean!" I called back

Me and Jadon went to our den wich was an old metal shed, that had randomly been ditched in the small woods in the park, wich we now call ours.

"I like your necklace" Jadon said and I smiled holding on to it, "thank you, Hayden brought it for me to remember Charlie, it's a guardian angle to keep me safe" I smiled.
"Thank nice, do you miss him?" Jadon asked and I nodded, "everyday, but can we not talk about this?" I asked and he nodded, "of course"

"I want to become a footballer so bad when I'm older, but at school, they said only like 1% become pro" Jadon complained.
"Yeah, and you're in that 1% Jadon you're so good!" I said hyping him up and he smiled.
"You think that?"

"Of course and don't give up, I would love to have a famous best friend!" I said excitedly and he laughed.
"ill try my best."

We sat in the den for ages just talking about random stuff and playing random games.

A few hours had now passed, and we were still In our den. When Hayden came up to us, "Hey guys, when I saw you weren't playing football I knew you would be here" he slightly smiled as he stepped inside our den.

"Is it time to go?" I asked excitedly.

"Yeah you need to come back and get ready" Hayden said, we all stood up and walked back.
"Have fun zuriel, I hope it's a good surprise" Jadon smiled as he crossed the road towards his house. "Bye Jadon, thank you!" I said excitedly.

Once we had got inside I ran upstairs into my room, my mum was in there and she was laying out my outfit. It was a navy blue sparkly dress, with a matching necklace and some shoes the same colour as the dress.

"I love it, Mum, thank you" I gasped hugging her. "It's okay honey I'm glad you like it, make sure u say thank you to Peter as he paid for it."
She laughed softly.

I got dressed and then Mum straightened my hair for me, I ran into Hayden's room once she had finished. "How do I look?" I smiled spinning around. "You look lovely zuri, so grown up!" He exclaimed happily hugging me.

"You look nice too!" I said looking up at Hayden he was wearing a white shirt and some trousers.
"Thank you" he smiled back at me.

"Hey you guys ready to go?" Peter said poking his head around the door. "Oh wow zuriel you look pretty!" He smiled at me.
"Thank you" I grinned spinning around so my dress would flare out.
