Chapter six

-August 2021-

-Jadon's Pov-

I had been playing FIFA with Liam for an hour now, I had a party for myself later as I had moved clubs from Dortmund to Manchester untied.

"who from the party will I know?" Liam asked me. "erm me obviously, my parents, a few other of our childhood friends, oh and I think Zuriel and Tyreese are coming too," I said. Even saying Zuriels name felt weird to me and left a bitter taste on my tongue.

"oh, you guys still talk? I thought after the time at the mall you hadn't been talking" Liam said.
"We don't my mum insisted on them coming, wait," I said as I replied without fully processing what he said. "what do you mean the day at the mall?".

"you were with a bunch of girls, one of them was in your lap and had the bracelet zuriel gave you, she got all upset about it"

"oh that day, she saw?" I asked Liam releasing that was why she hadn't texted me although, that still doesn't mean she should have done what she did.

"yeah, to make it worst Tom bumped into her and started hugging her and saying wired shit" Liam commented.

"what do you mean Tom was there? Did Zuriel seem happy?" I asked thinking about the videos and pictures I had seen of them.

"no, she pushed him away and told him to leave her alone" Tyreese replied.
"shit" I muttered quietly "Erm Liam I've got to go now and get ready for the party ill see you there," I said logging off the game before Liam had the chance to reply.

None of this made sense, I saw Tom post pictures of him and Zuriel together she always seemed so happy, but when they met at the shopping center the same day I saw pictures of them Liam said she pushed him away.

I decided to push it to the back of my mind just for today, I got dressed and put on some jewellery before heading to my mum's house where the party was being held.

"hey my baby!" my mum cheered excitedly when he opened the door.

"hey Mum" I smiled giving her a massive hug, I had missed her but now I'm glad it was no longer than a 5 minute's drive to get to her house.

I walked into the house and it was all decorated with pictures of me in my Manchester untied kit and a few pictures from Dortmund and even some from when I was younger, there were red balloons and confetti scattered around everywhere.

"is it too much?" My mum asked sounding a bit disappointed. "what no mum, I love it thank you so much!" I said hugging her again.

-same day-
-zuriels pov-

"why do I have to come, me and Jadon don't even talk!" I groaned as I got in the car with my parents.

"Because his mum invited us, you have known Jadon since you was born and you have almost always been there for each other. I think it would be good for you guys to be friends again"
My mum said.

"I'm 21 mum I can make my own decisions" I sighed. "Okay, I'll have back the house we brought you then" my mum replied referring to her and Peter, she had a point so I stayed quiet there was no point still arguing with her.

We arrived at Jadons parent's house and my mum went and knocked on the door Lillian opened it "Ah finally!" she exclaimed hugging my mum and Peter

"hey Zuriel!" she said I had a bruise on my shoulder and it made me wince a little as she gave me a tight hug.

"oh are you alright?" she asked me.
"yeah I'm okay thanks I just bumped my shoulder" I smiled weakly at her.

"okay, maybe you could have Jadon or one of his athlete friends take a look at it there use to all types of injures" she suggested and I nodded.

We all then walked into the party and I soon got lost from my mum and Peter as they chatted with some people, Tyrese hadn't arrived yet and I wasn't up to socialising anyway so I walked to the back of the garden and sat down on my phone.

-Jadon's Pov-

"Jadon!" I heard my name being called, I turned around to see Shannon standing there with a big smile on her face. "Congratulations!" She smiled coming over and giving me a hug, "thank you Shannon, thank you for coming too" I smiled and she nodded.

"Of course, we are so proud of you" she said,
"Thank you, it means I lot" I replied.
I was about to go great some more people when she grabbed my arm, "Jadon" he said softly and I looked at her confused.

"If you get the chance... please talk to Zuriel" she said her eyes desperate, "yeah, I will do" I said giving her a knowing look. "Thank you Jadon, enjoy your night" she smiled,
"Yeah, you too" I replied as she walked off.

I went and greeted a few other people before spotting Zuriel at the end of the garden, she has sat on her phone, her leg was bouncing up and down. I walked down to the end of the garden and sat down next to her, "hey" I said softly.

She looked up at me in shock, then looking down at her phone again, "how are you?" I then asked but I still go no reply.

"Okay, I get you don't want to speak to me right now but, I want to apologise" I said not expecting a reply, "the night in Germany, I was drunk for the first time, I wasn't speaking straight and then I saw these pictures.." I began stopping to think to myself.

"Why are you here Jadon?" She asked,
"What?" I said confused,
"You heard me" she replied and I let out a sigh,
"We haven't spoken in ages I miss you"

"And whose fault is that?" She asked her eyes still on her phone where she was playing block blast,
"Mine and I'm sorry, I saw these pictures of you and Tom and I just-"

"Why does everything have to be about Tom!" She interrupted me standing up and walking down the garden towards the alley way.
A few people looked over as I stood up and followed her, she walked down the house alley way into the now dark street.

She walked a little further before sitting on a brick wall, not realising I had followed her out, I went and sat then next to her. She looked at me, tears were streaming down her face, I had never seen her like this before.

I opened my arms for a hug and she accepted holding me tight, "Zuriel" I said trying to get her to look at me, "Zuri, look at me" I said and her head slowly raised.

"What's going on?" I asked her confused but she just started crying even more, "you can tell me Zuri, I know we have made many stupid promises in the pass we have never stuck to but if I can promise you one thing it is that I will always care for you" I said wiping her eyes, "talk to me"

"I can't Jadon" she muttered and I looked at her confused, "what do you mean?" I asked.
"Look I shouldn't be here you you Jadon, it's not fair on Tom, he didn't want me coming as it was" she said.

"You and Tom are together?" I asked and she nodded bursting out into tears again, "woah, Zuri what's up?" I asked her random outburst taking me by surprise. She face away from me so I placed a hand on her shoulder to turn her back to me but as I did she let out a cry of pain.

"Shit, sorry?" I said standing up,
"It's okay" she replied,
"What happened to your shoulder?" I asked.

"I fell over this morning, it just hurts a bit" she explained and I nodded unsure of what to do, I looked at Zuriel and realised she had closed her eyes, "Zuri" I said gaining her attention before she closed her eyes again barley being able to stay awake.

"Okay, let's get you inside" I said softly helping her up and walking down the road back to my house, I took her straight upstairs to the guest room without anyone noticing before sitting her in the bed.

"Did you not sleep last night or something?" I asked her and she shrugged, "I don't sleep that much anymore" she sighed.
