CHAPTER
ONE

" very... professional "

JEAN WAS STARTING TO GET READY, she picked out an all black suit to where for this soirée event, her parents were invited weeks ago, and they arrived two days before the event.

This family was a well known one in piltover, Jean barely knew of them, just reading up on them for the last two days, apparently this event was for their daughter, Caitlyn, who won in the summer annual piltover shooting contest.

It was pretty impressive, Jean thought, she wondered what this Caitlyn was about, was she cool? A prissy?

She shook her head of those thoughts, fixing her tie, before leaving her room, grabbing her phone and putting it in her pocket and walking out of her room and downstairs, her parents bought this house the moment they got here.

She walked down the final steps and into the living room, seeing her parents talking to the maid— probably about the plenty birds her dad has— it was kind of his hobby and mom just accepted it.

Jean rolled her eyes,

"Dad, you realise there's a such thing as a phone, right?" She said, "you could just text her the details about which bird gets what food and what their allergies are, think we can go now?"

She checked her phone, "it's getting about time."

Her mom nodded, turning to her husband, and Jean glanced between the two,

"She's right, amour, just text them while we're on our way to the event." She said, fixing his tie, patting his chest with a smile,

"R— right, okay," dad said, pointing to the maid, mom then started pushing him out the front door, "I'll uh, I'll just text then, ju— just take care of them okay?!" He yelled as the three walked out, they then got to the car and got in.

The drive was a bit away, but in the end they made it just in time, the three got out of the car and looked around the mansion, the large gates surrounding it, the large stone pillars, the white pillars, the gold, everything,

Though it was alright compared to France.

They walked up to the doors before entering in, seeing people in their suits and dresses, waiters here and there, a couple of them came up to the three and offered them drinks, Jean tried to take one but her mom swatted her hand,

"Jean, you're seventeen." She glared lightly at her, and Jean just shrugged, "no, no, absolutely not," her mother continued to shake her head and then gestured the waiters to continue walking, leaving Jean empty handed,

"Really?"

"Yes, really, why don't you go socialise with others, we have to talk to the kirammans for a moment, okay?" Her mother said, Jean then nodded and glanced around, looking up and making contact with a girl leaning over the bannister, before she glanced away and went somewhere,

A few minutes before, Caitlyn was enjoying her party, basking in the excitement of winning the annual contest, but she felt something was missing, she didn't know what though,

She then heard the doors of the mansion opening again, a group of three this time, but one in particular caught her eye, a quite tall girl who was wearing an all black suit, trying to get a glass of champagne,

Caitlyn involuntarily smiled, letting out a small chuckle as she looked at the girl, leaning over the bannister, she guessed this girl was about her age if she couldn't drink, she then noticed that the girl glanced around before looking her way, Caitlyn averted her eyes quickly to the wall, before noticing the girl walk away.
