CHAPTER
THREE

" change of plans "

IT WAS THEN LATER, the event was slowly starting to end, some were leaving early and some stayed a little longer, chatting or enjoying the quiet now,

Jean had a conversation with her parents before separating and going to find Caitlyn, before finding her in the dining area, at the table, a cup of water in hand,

She chuckled as she walked up to her,

"Ah, I see you've discovered water." She said and took a seat, Caitlyn looked up at her, a small grin on her lips,

"Shut up," she grumbled, Jean smirked lightly,

"Looks like someone can't handle their champagne." Caitlyn turned from her water, looking at her her in surprise,

"How'd—"

"Your breath for one, also your flirting, and the wobbles of your stance." Jean said with a chuckle, Caitlyn groaned and leaned her head against the table,

Her face flushed as she realised what she'd done, one, drank a little too much champagne, two, drinking after her mother said no, three, she flirted and probably tried throwing herself at Jean,

"If you're wondering if you were a mess, er, you sort of were," Jean started and Caitlyn looked up at her with a look, "but, but, you weren't bad, nothing too embarrassing."

Caitlyn sighed, leaning up slightly, her hands twiddling with the water cup, "are you saying the truth?"

"Yes."

She glanced over Jean, trying to find any hint of insincerity, but there was just clear honesty, so she nodded and took another sip of the water,

Jean drummed her fingers against the table,

"Er, so, there's been a change of plans." She said, Caitlyn set her cup down, her eyebrows furrowed,

"What do you mean?"

"When you asked if I was staying," Jean started and Caitlyn listened, "I talked to my parents, and they decided to let me stay for the rest of the summer."

Caitlyn nodded, Jean then smiled, "er, they then talked to yours," she looked at Caitlyn, who in return was confused, "instead of being at the estate they bought, alone, they asked if I could stay with you guys, and your parents agreed."

Her eyes widened a bit, Jean staying in the same house as her, her house? The same roof? Living together for the rest of the summer? What could possibly happen?

"Caitlyn?" Jean asked, she turned to her with a small smile, pushing those thoughts aside,

"Yeah, yeah, that'd be great." She nodded, her hand moving to rest under her chin, trying to stop the smile from forming on her face, jean smiled, tapping the table,

"Cool, cool."

Caitlyn nodded, her mind racing for a reason to keep Jean around longer, sure they just met, but she found herself wanting to have her company around more,

There was just something about her...

"Um..." She mumbled, thinking to herself, She decided to continue on, the worst Jean could do was say no, so... "do... do you have any plans for tomorrow?"

Jean turned her attention from the very small crowd now to Caitlyn, she shook her head,

"Not at all."

A bit of excitement flickered in Caitlyn's chest, and she resisted a wider smile, her eyes darted over jean once more, taking in her figure one more time,
