CHAPTER
TWO

" hedge maze "

CAITLYN NODDED, RELIEF WASHING OVER HER, when Jean agreed, now it was the hard part, "Fantastic, Follow me." She looked to see if anyone was watching,

Everyone was too distracted with chatting amongst themselves to notice her.

Turning back to Jean, she held out her hand, a smile on her face, Jean chuckled lightly and grabbed her hand to let her lead her to wherever it was they were going,

Caitlyn took Jean's hand and led her from the upstairs, weaving through the crowd of people and out into the hallway.

Fortunately, they weren't spotted by anyone, and they made their way unnoticed to the back of the house.

Once they were certain nobody was paying attention to them, Caitlyn pushed open a back door, leading her outside into the cool night air.

The Kiramman estate was a rather large property, surrounded by lush gardens, fountains, large gates, and a small hedge maze in the back.

Caitlyn led Jean down a gravel path towards the maze, The gardens were lit by dim torches and glowing lanterns, bathing the pathways in a soft golden light,

The sounds of crickets and cicadas filled the air, along with the soft splashing of the nearby fountains.

They reached the entrance of the hedge maze and Caitlyn paused, turning to look at Jean,

"Have you ever been in a hedge maze?" She asked, her voice soft and quiet, The only other light now was the silvery light of the moon, illuminating the surroundings and causing the garden shrubs to cast dancing shadows across the ground,

"No, not exactly, only in like, video games."

Caitlyn smirked faintly, seeing her chance to have a little fun with the taller woman.

"Perfect,Then you won't mind if I lead the way, will you?" Without waiting for a response, she began to move into the maze, starting down the winding path,

There was a playful little skip in her step now.

Navigating her way through the maze, Caitlyn led Jean past twisting pathways and dead ends.

Every now and then, she would deliberately take a turn that she knew led to a dead end, just so she could turn around and have a bit of fun teasing the taller woman.

She had to admit, she was having quite a lot of fun, walking under the star-filled sky, and having this tall, attractive woman so close to her.

Eventually, they reached the centre of the hedge maze, and Caitlyn stopped, looking around them.

At night, only the moonlight cast its glow on the surroundings, giving the small clearing a bit of a magical feel to it.

"So," Caitlyn said, turning to look at Jean. "We finally arrived to our destination." She took a wobbly step forward, a sly smirk playing on her lips.

"I see that." Jean nodded, noticing the wobble in caitlyns step, but ignoring for now,

Caitlyn crossed her arms, leaning back against a nearby hedge, She took a moment to study the other woman, Once again, she found herself staring at her figure - how the suit fit her in all the right places, and how the moonlight made her skin glow.

Caitlyn mentally scolded her own mind for thinking these things, but her heart was beating faster.

"It's pretty here, isn't it?" She asked, a slight hint of flirtation in her voice.
