CHAPTER
FOUR" warm blazer "
IT WAS THEN THE END OF THE NIGHT, people were leaving to go home, jeans sat at the steps of the exit of caitlyns house, watching as others left,
Her parents went home a little early as they had a little too much to drink, so she was waiting for her ride to get here,
On the other hand, Caitlyn was in the midst of bidding farewell to the last of the guests, forcing a smile onto her face as each of them left,
She was feeling exhausted and a bit overwhelmed after hours of pretending to be the polite, poised daughter her mother expected her to be.
She was longing for solitude, to escape from the noise and endless small talk, Suddenly, she noticed jean sitting on the steps, waiting alone,
Caitlyn quickly excused herself from the group she was speaking to and made her way over to jean, a small, relieved smile on her face.
It was nice to see a familiar face, someone she felt more comfortable around than all the other guests.
"Hey," She said, taking a seat next to jean on the steps, "I'm glad you're still here."
Jean glanced at her, "yeah, I was waiting, my parents already went back to the place we're staying at, but I wanted to wait, to say goodbye."
Caitlyn felt a small pang of disappointment at jeans words, realising that she was going to be alone again once jean left,
But she pushed the feeling aside, determined not to let her own loneliness show.
"I see," She said, unable to hide the hint of disappointment in her voice, "Well, I suppose it's time for you to go then?"
Jean chuckled, "well, I mean, I'll see you tomorrow." Caitlyn nodded in agreement, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips,
She was suddenly feeling slightly nervous at the thought of seeing jean again the next day, But it was a good nervous, the kind that came with anticipation and excitement.
"Yes," She said, her voice soft,
"Tomorrow." Jean nodded and smiled,
"And then the next, the next, basically until the end of summer." Caitlyn chuckled with a nod, before she was suddenly very conscious of how close they were sitting together, their shoulders practically touching,
She could feel the warmth of jeans body next to her own, her body heat seeping through their clothes.
Caitlyn had to resist the urge to lean closer, to bask in jeans presence, Instead, she took a deep, shaky breath, her heart beating loudly in her chest,
"You cold?" Jean asked, noticing the shaky breath she took, Caitlyn was taken slightly by surprise at jean's question,
Her mind suddenly brought back from its musings, She quickly shook her head, a small, flustered smile on her lips,
"No, I'm fine," She said, her voice slightly breathless, She was very much not fine, but she didn't want to admit that to jean - not when she was feeling so hyperaware of her close proximity,
Jean then leaned up a bit, taking off her blazer and slowly wrapped it around caitlyns shoulders,
Caitlyn gasped softly as she placed the blazer around her shoulders, her skin tingling at the contact,
She was suddenly enveloped in jeans scent, a warm, earthy smell that was both comforting and slightly intoxicating, she could feel the heat radiating from the blazer, making her body feel warm and tingly all over.
