A Rescue

"So once Alexis and I get on the train... I untie Vic and we jump off right as the train gets to the bridge." Garfield says as Alexis is walking beside him in wolf form with Otto.

"Correct. Chipmunk will be waiting for you. If you don't jump right as the train gets to the bridge you'll miss the net." Otto says.

"Got it. It's getting close. Odie make the order. Alexis you ready?" Garfield asks as Alexis nods before Garfield gets on her back as the train begins passing them.

"Ready. Hang on." Alexis says as she begins running next to the train and jumps into an open car with Garfield and knocks into Jinx and her dogs Roland and Noland.

"Dad! I'm here to rescue you!" Garfield says as he runs over to a tied up Vic.

"No, no, no, Junior! Get outta here!" Vic says in alarm as Alexis goes over and begins tugging at the ropes with her teeth.

"We're gonna untie you and we're gonna jump off the train!" Garfield says.

"No! Just leave me and go! I didn't come this far... just to turn around." Garfield says as Alexis gets Vic loose from the ropes.

"Little treacherous mutt! You're ruining everything!" Jinx says as she grabs an axe.

"Quick this way!" Garfield says as the group begins climbing the cars while trying to avoid Roland and Noland.

"Uh Garfield!" Alexis says as she sees a sign before Garfield sees it.

"The bridge is comin' up! We gotta get to the caboose now!" Garfield says.

"What? Why?" Vic asks as the group begins running along the roof of the cars.

"Just follow my lead!" Garfield says before the group gets cornered between Roland and Noland.

"Not good." Alexis says worriedly as she shifts to cat form.

"Oi kitty cat! Did you expect to take us on all by yourself?" Roland asks as he smiles.

"No. I brought... takeout." Garfield says before the groups sees dozens of drones carrying delivery orders forward them as Garfield gets on one of the boxes being carried and begins throwing the other orders at Roland, Jinx and Noland.

"Garfield that was amazing." Alexis says happily as Garfield comes over to the group.

"Go, go! Now!" Garfield shouts as the group begins heading toward the last train car before Garfield gets grabbed and thrown by Jinx.

"Garfield! No!" Alexis shouts in alarm.

"Junior!" Vic shouts before he and Alexis see Garfield land one of the the drones and is okay.

"Stop him!" Jinx shouts angrily before Garfield drinks a jar of hot sauce and lands in front of Alexis and Vic before he breathes fire at Jinx, Roland and Noland causing them to duck for cover.

"Now that's amazing!" Vic says happily.

"Yeah it is!" Alexis says happily as she laughs.

"I can't feel my tongue." Garfield says concernedly.

"Roadkill! Rabbit! Are you at the caboose ready to jump?" Otto asks before the group uses a branch to get to the last train car.

"What do we do now?" Vic asks as he sees Jinx, Roland and Noland looking at them through the caboose door.

"We do this!" Garfield says before he pushes Alexis and Vic off the train into the gorge before he jumps too only for the group to land on the net Odie set up and bounce back onto the train roof where Jinx and her dogs are waiting.

"Hello again welcome back! Now where were we? No, no! Don't throw them over just yet. I want to find the perfect place for them to make the biggest splat." Jinx says as Roland grabs Vic and Alexis while Noland grabs Garfield and holds them over the edge.

"Hey, hey! Junior! Junior, Junior." Vic says as Garfield looks at him.

"Get ready! Almost there!" Jinx says happily.

"I'm sorry my rescue didn't work out." Garfield says.

"No you gave me another chance. That's all that matters." Vic says as he smiles at Garfield.

"And I'm happy I got to know you Garfield." Alexis says as Garfield smiles at her.

"Me too Alexis." Garfield says.

"Now, now! Drop them now! Huh? What are you waiting for?" Jinx asks as Roland and Noland aren't dropping the group.

"Their love for one another indicates that despite their current circumstance they are at peace. Because they are together." Roland says.

"So?" Jinx asks angrily.

"If the point of your revenge was to hurt them it has done the opposite. It's actually textbook irony!" Noland says.

"And we're no longer comfortable with your plan." Roland says before Jinx growls angrily.

"You two are still as weak as you were when I found you sniveling in the pound. Ooh no one will adopt us. I never grew into my folds. I hide behind them because I'm socially awkward. Please somebody love me even though I can't sit still for more than ten seconds and have the attention span of a bloody goldfish! Just as this useless wolf is. I should have let her die on those streets." Jinx says angrily as Alexis growls angrily.

"We did everything you ever asked of us just the same as Alexis did. I even spoke with this ridiculous accent to make you feel more at home. But no more! I'm New York loud and proud! I love myself the way I am and I'm a big brave boy baby!" Roland says proudly as his voice changes.

"And I've been working on my attention span. Is that a hot air balloon?" Noland asks as he sees a something before Jinx groans angrily.

"You two... are... Worthless!" Jinx shouts angrily as she attacks the group sending them falling over the edge before Jinx gets sent over the edge after hitting a beam on the bridge.

"I guess this is it." Alexis says as everyone grabs each other's hands as they're falling toward the sharp rocks before being caught by Otto.

"Rope. Versatile. Reliable." Otto says.

"There's something about your cadence that really throws me but thank you." Garfield says before Otto grabs Jinx and throws the group safely into the net as Jinx lands between the rope pieces getting stuck.

"Tossing me off the train? Did not see that coming." Vic says as he smiles at Garfield.

"Well when you live in the wild you gotta keep your head on a swivel." Garfield says proudly.

"Right." Vic says.

"Well anyway you did good pet." Alexis says as she smiles at Garfield.

"Hey. You good Roadkill?" Otto asks.

"Not quite. There's one last thing to take care of." Garfield says.
