Chapter 3 - who's that girl ?

Lynn's POV :

I was absolutely dreading and had no wants to go back to school after our 3 months long summer break , my sleep schedule was still messed up and I hadn't picked up a single book the whole entire break .

So , naturally ,when I got to school on Monday , the last thing I wanted to hear was Margo , Maddie and Paula gossiping about the new student that apparently "moved from the other side of the world" , "had a lot of family drama" and much more crap about a girl we don't even know yet which I eventually stopped paying attention to and tuned out - till they mentioned that she was an athlete .

"What ?" I said , raising my head off of the table , my friends looked at me like I'd just confessed my undying love to them . "I said I heard that she was an athlete" Paula said , giving me a weird look I couldn't find the reason behind .

Now I never really cared about transfer students , actually , I kinda disliked them to say the least . They randomly start attending our school with so much shit about why they moved , take so much time to adapt to our program and get an absurd amount of attention - I hated that .

Especially because they said that the girl was an athlete - what if she randomly starts joining all the teams thinking she's so much better than me , even worst , what if she turns out to be better than me ?

No , I was getting ahead of my self , I'm Lynn Loud Jr , no one is better than me at sports , after all , I was the "best athlete this school has ever seen" and I like to believe that I'm irreplaceable .

After a while , Margo finally snapped me out of my thoughts "why do you even care ?" "What?" To be honest , I never really listen to their conversations unless they involve me or my interests - which was most of the time since we were teammates and had a lot in common but I couldn't help myself from getting distracted when they started yapping about random people from our school and their whereabouts .

"I said why do you even care , you never listen when we talk about people and you seem pretty worked up about this whole thing" "You're getting ahead of yourself Margo , I don't even care , I was just surprised when you said that she was an athlete and wanted to see if we would have to see eachother a lot" "I mean she is an athlete but you actually won't see her at all" Paula added "The hell do you mean?"

Ok , now they were just fucking with me , how won't I see her , I play basically every sport this school has to offer , well , exept for three , that this girl just seemed to coincidentally play "I heard she's a dancer , a gymnast or like a figure skater or something ." Maddie finally said .

Bitch you got me exited for nothing , I thought she played actual sports ." Bulshit

Maddie raised an eyebrow " She does play real sports , do you know how hard the tricks you do in their choreography are ? I don't think you'd be able to do half of them" Was she challenging me ? "Yeah whatever , I couldn't care less about this new girl stuff , I'm gonna start heading to class . " I said .

Just after that , the bell rang and we started heading to our first class of the year : English , God , I'm gonna have to bare with ms. Tyte talking my ears off on a Monday morning for the rest of the year , just perfect . I made my way to class , tuning out my friends , unconsciously thinking about this new girl .

When I got to class , I took my usual seat in the back , took a look around and rested my head on the desk . I really didin't feel like participating in this whole "introduction" thing ms. Tyte makes us do every year we end up in her class - well that was until I heard the door open and heard an unfamiliar voice coming from the front of the class .

I looked up and saw a girl I'd never seen before , I assumed she was the new student Margo , Maddie and Paula were talking about earlier . "Hello darling , welcome to english class , my name is ms. Tyte and I'll be your teacher for the year ."
