Opposite Attracts - Lynn Loud Jr

Chapter 11 - Progress is still progress

3rd person POV:

The next Monday , each girl made her separate , usual way to school and they didin't talk the whole time . It wasn't out of spite or anything like that for once but more due to the fact that they had nothing to say . That was until they reached what the dancer liked to call the trenches of war - fucking school . 

Of course , being who she is , Estella politely waved at Lynn in the hallway and went back to sneakily helping her with the answers when she was stuck in class while occasionally cracking her a smile when the teacher said some corny shit and letting her borrow pens amd pencils or reading from her book when she forgot it at home .

It was nothing , really , well , not for Estella . Lynn , on the other hand , was freaking out about the whole being friends thing , although she had to admit that , despite getting flustered even thinking about the girl , the being handed free answers part made her more than happy and grateful .

When the bell rang , signifying the end of the period before lunch , the girls politely bid their goodbye for now and parted ways .

"So you're telling me she didin't tell you it was chore day till you got to her house , made you clean her place without lifting a finger herself AND basically almost got you killed with her family's shenanigans ?"

Nathalie questioned Estella , while walking to the cafeteria , berating Lynn in the process . She didin't know what was in the air but the girl wanted to claw at her face .

"Seriously I hate that girl so much ."Damn , she really did dislike her alot , so much it was the only nonsense coming out of her mouth . Maybe they would benefit from spending a little amount of time together just like she did .

"Well , when you put it that way , Lynn does sound like a bitch . Not gonna lie , if all I heard was what you just said , I would hold a whole ass grudge against her but she swore it was an honest mistake and the guilt on her face while apologizing tells me she was genuine ."

The dancer didn't even know why she was defending Lynn at this point . She assumed that since they were  practically friends ? now , she obviously had to defend her name when she's not around .

"Come on Estella , that's way too forgiving even for Miss Nice Girl over here ." Okay now she wanted to straight up tackle her .

"Besides , Lynn was probably trying to guilt trip you into forgiving her ." Nathalie said , clearly only trying to prove her point but , without knowing , she dissapointed Estella in a way no one would've though of .

Not wanting her friend to know she bothered her , she kept the conversation going "What , so people can't have manners anymore without being labeled as "Nice try hards" ? Who even said that anyways ?" She questioned , genuine confusion overtaking her features although she was more offended than confused .

"No one really says it to your face , but they're all thinking it . No offense , of course" "None taken don't worry ."

Fuck this shit .

Nathalie was , infact , wrong about the no one calling her Miss Nice Girl to her face part . Lynn had actually managed to do so several times over the past few days along with Little Miss Perfect and countless other shitty nicknames but she didin't mind - atleast that's what she told herself .

Estella needed to think , so she excused herself to the bathroom although when Nathalie tried going with her and suggested to wait outside , she insisted that she went to go find an empty table instead .

Was it rude to just shoo away her new friend off like that ? Yes . But what Nathalie doesn't know can't hurt her . After all , she did say she was going to the bathroom and you can't argue with that .
