The war had ended
After many days of quiet planning and their not-so-planned fighting. Viren has finally lost to Callum and his friends.
It was a joyous occasion
Though, not everyone in the kingdom was celebrating. In fact, there were many who were weeping over their loved ones or were trying to replace their loyalty with their kingdom once again.
And there were some that knew that Viren has manipulated them, but yet were still wanting to follow in the fellow lord's footsteps.
Those people were targeted the moment the war ended.
"RUN!"
Two fellow humans took off running, not leaving any trace of themselves behind them. Panting, and sweating, the two reached their designation, huddling in the wooden house.
"Finally," a voice sighed out as they both took off their hoods.
It was revealed that one of the humans was a fair young maiden, whose brown hair reached to her shoulders. The other was a young man, who had short blond hair, and a scar to accompany his looks. Both were average in height and bore the same weight as many teenagers.
Though, sometimes they held more on than shoulders than a growing individual should.
"They're running in the opposite direction," The girl whispered, watching a band of villagers run past their cozy little cottage. "I believe that we've tricked them."
"Good," The young man lowered his hood, "I do despise people chasing us."
"You're the reason we're in this situation Crypto," The girl lowered her hood, effectively taking off her long black cloak.
The young man, formally known as Crypto, followed his sister actions. He took off his cloak and set it near the door. "Don't start this conversation Averice, you already know how it's going to end."
Averice did know how it was going to end, and for that, she wanted to accept defeat. But it had been her brothers fault, now she was at her end. Being chased by angry villagers for something that she hadn't wanted to do.
But her brother did always drag her with him in situations like this
"But am I wrong Cy? It was your idea to follow Viran." She exclaimed.
Crypto sighed, clearly defeated by some means. "So maybe you're right. But I did it all for you Av, everything I ever do is for you. You're all that I have left."
"But why Viran?"
"Because he promised me something, something that would be good for the both of us."
"Oh really?" Averice raised an eyebrow. "And what would that be?"
Crypto waved absentmindedly. "That's not important. What's important is finding another source."
"Another source?"
"Yes, a powerful one."
Scenarios flashed through Averice's head, each ending in a similar manner. Her brother had always gone for things that were far beyond their reach, and now what he was clearly suggesting wasn't anything short of it.
"And why do you need this power source?" She asked. "And how do you plan to get it? If you're suggesting what I think you're saying, then how do you plan to steal a dragon?"
Her brother snorted, clearly entertained at the prospect of stealing something so guarded. "You must be out of your mind Av, there isn't any way that I would be able to steal a dragon. But I can steal something else far easier."
