Athena stood with the Cobra Kai students, guilting bubbling up her chest. The girl didn't tell them that her parents had forced her to quit. she doesn't even have her gi, since it was burnt to ash. yet, she's still outside the building where she's supposed to compete in the all valley.

Apollo pulled his sister aside from the group, wanting to talk to her privately. "Athena, you shouldn't do this, what if mom and dad find out? they-" "they won't. you told them they don't need to come right?" She asked, in which Apollo nodded.

"I'll just compete without their knowledge, I win the trophy, bim bam freaking boom, we're done!" She exclaimed. "what about your gi? I thought dad burned it." Apollo asked her. "I can borrow yours or someone else's." Athena answered.

"but, I'm scared for you, Thea. what if they decide to show up and see you fight? they'll never let you do karate ever again." Apollo sighed. "I don't know. just, don't mention it to anyone. they don't need to know." Athena said, Apollo still frowning in worry.

"hey, it'll be fine. we'll be alright." She smiled at her younger brother, putting a hand on his shoulder. he nodded as they walked back to the group.

"yo, Miguel, calm down, man. save some for the tournament." Eli said as Miguel rapidly punched the air, warming up for the contest. "hey, don't even bother." Aisha said to Hawk. "He's been super aggro since the break up."

"where's sensei? the tournament is going to start soon." Eli asked. "he'll be here, he wouldn't miss this." Apollo answered him.

"I don't know about that." Bert said, causing the four to look at him. "What do you mean?" Athena asked.

"I saw him last night at the mini mart, I was buying..." Bert suspiciously paused. "...a carton of milk, when I heard him at the parking lot yelling." the boy continued on about how he caught him urinating on his car while screaming about death and fathers.

"and you didn't think to tell us this earlier?" Apollo asked defensively. "I don't know. I guess I'm just used to seeing him drunk, it didn't seem like a big deal." Bert said with his hands in his pockets.

"well, we're here, and he's not. so, it's officially a big deal." Eli said, getting upset at the boy. "what if something happened to him?"

"like, what?" Bert asked nervously. "I don't know, like he drove off a cliff or bought a gun and blew his brains out." He shrugged. "Quit it, Eli, you're scaring the kids. Sensei will be here." Athena nodded.

"sensei would never kill himself anyway, that's too pussy of a move." Aisha said. "what if he doesn't show up? Thea, then what? all that sneaking around and planning would be for nothing?" Apollo said anxiously, almost spilling their plan to the others. Athena sent her younger brother a threatening stare.
