Year 850

Trost District

Y/N POV

I stood atop of Wall Rose looking down at the lost city of Trost. Some titans were clawing at the wall while staring up at me. Their grins holding not a murderous intent but one of a blank mind. The eyes of the titans held no emotion in them, and not even blinking, they stared back at me. I sighed as I looked up, over the city and out to the vast land that was beyond Wall Rose.

The sun had begun to hover just over the horizon, filling the clouded sky with vibrant pinks, oranges, and yellows. I smiled a bit at the site.

Y/N: "Well... if today was the last day for humanity. At least I get to see something as beautiful as this." I mumbled to myself.

I was about to turn away but something caught my eye in the distance. I saw two objects flying through the air they moved slowly seemingly dancing with each other. Bird perhaps? I couldn't tell but as they got closer, I realized the view before me.

Two butterflies had found their way to me...

Holding out my hand, I slowly went to offer a perch for the slow and delicate creatures that had graced me with their presence.

The larger of the two seemed interested and landed on my hand allowing me to see the intricate design of its wings. The smaller butterfly was more cautious, not wanting to get too close until the larger one landed and proved that I was no threat.

The first had a beautiful design along its wings, with a bright pink around the edges of the wings, and white dots speckled the pink. On the inner portion of the wings was a light green that seemed to complement the pink in a strange way. Making both colors take display while not overtaking each other.

The second had finally decided to land next to the first, accepting my hand to take a short break. It looked similar to the first, only with a deep purple taking place of the pink on the first. The green was also replaced with a gentle gradient of white to light blue.

Y/N: "You two have had a long journey haven't you?" I looked around trying to see how far they would have flown to get here. "These walls, they are no place for beautiful creatures like you. Take a break before you continue."

I smiled looking at the two butterflies, the pink one being slow with its movements, fully enjoying the brake. While the purple one seemed to flutter more, obviously wanting to continue.

I heard footsteps come from behind me, though I didn't look, not wanting to disturb the butterflies on my hand.

Eren: "Hey Y/N. Come on, now isn't the time to play with some bugs."

I laughed a bit at Erens words.

Y/N: "Eren. Tell me, what's your plan if you can't lift the boulder?" I ask, and I can feel Erens eyes drilling into the back of my head. However, I never dropped my smile or looked at the brunette.

Eren: "What? Do you doubt me? Cause how about I just prove you- "

I lift my other hand towards him, in an attempt to silence the boy from screaming even more.

Y/N: "I never said I doubted you Eren. I just want to know if you have really thought this through. Because if we do this, and you can't lift that boulder, then that leaves the gate completely open for the Armored Titan to smash through."

As I said this, the wind picked up a bit, causing the two butterflies to drift off with the wind, and continue their journey. I finally looked at Eren to see that he seemed conflicted, now staring at the wall below him. I put a hand on his shoulder, causing him to look up at me, the conflict still in his eyes.
