Macaque and Sun Wukong used to be Mates but no longer. After Wukong got released from his prison to join the Journey to the West. Macaque had never left him throughout his imprisonment under the mountain after he found him, he was always there. Macaque has been taken care of Flower Fruit Mountain after the Genocide the Celestials did to the island. Leading him to be very overworked and weak from the lack of sleep and constant use of magic in the multiple clones he had stationed around the island. With Wukong's absences many demons wanted to claim the island; it was only him protecting the island until the first batch of warriors would be ready to take over defending the island in his absences. His little Yakshas would be ready to defend the home in his absence.

When Macaque returned from checking on the Island it was to the destruction of the mountain Wukong was in. Leading him to go into a panic trying to clear out the rumble so he could reach the chamber wukong was in. Taking off the Glamours from his ears in order to hear where his heartbeat was in the rubble. When he couldn't hear his heartbeat he started crying and pleading to Buddha or any god to let him be okay. He then heard a small thumping of a heart beat from a far away distance.

When he looked towards the direction of the heartbeat and focused he realized that it was Wukong's and it was moving further west from the crumbled mountain.

" He's Out " with newfound energy macaque started his own journey to the west trying to reach Wukong's location. The Smile and joy in his eyes and he makes his way towards him.

It was a long journey to finally reach Wukong, getting closer to the tree line where his mate should be on the other side of the embankment. Only for him to run into the tree line and witness something so horrible

It was his mate on the ground screaming in pain while gripping his head surrounded by three demons and a human monk.

With this Macaque started to follow the group for an opportunity to get the monk alone in order to interrogate him on how to remove the golden headband. He had his chance when an owl demon started to disguise itself as wukong trying to infiltrate the group to get the monk.

When the owl demon revealed himself ready to take the killing blow to the monk after beating him a few times. Macaque made his own strike, finally the opportunity came from him to talk to the Monk after killing the other demon.

With the other demon disposed of Macaque lifted the monk up and started his interrogation of how to remove the golden headband from Wukong. The monk was still dazed from the previous demon and proceeded to pass out because of the treatment beforehand.

Before Macaque could put down the monk from where he had him dangling from the first of his shirt, Wukong versed into the clearing and saw Macaque holding up an unconscious and beaten up Tripitaka he went ballistic.

Wukong gave no time for Macaque to talk even though he keeped pleading throughout the entire fight to listen to him.

Macaque was only using defensive moves throughout their fight while Wukong was using everything he had to put Macaque into the ground giving into his bloodthirsty rage. He only made growls, and howls noises as he went to attack.

The tiredness that was already present in the Macaque doubled as he did not take any breaks trying to reach Wukongs location or when he was watching over his group. Finally caught up to him. Resulting in Wukong managing to land devastating hits to him.

Macaque never raced his hand to attack wukong, only pushing away at his clawing hand, fists, and staff.

With his body falling to catch more and more hits Macaque slowly gave into the numbness and pleaded to his mate to please lesson. As Wukong raised to make the finishing blow with his staff.

All Macaque could do was watch with wide eyes in discipline and a he slowly whispered "Peaches"

Wukong's staff went through his eye and a gurgled scream was all that came out of him before excruciating pain came over him resulting in him slowly succumbing to the darkness that was pulling him through.

The last thing he saw with his remaining functional eye was wukong painting over his eyes filled with so much rage and anger. 

Macaque is born from 3 primordial beings Moon,Wind, and Shadows. 

 Macaque manage to survive by just a slight chance, because he was  made from the moon. The night that he and Wukong fought was on a full moon. The Moon itself if a primordial being so when it since its child on the brink of death it sent its power to heal the wounds that it could saving their child from death but not able to heal them fully. They then sent the wind to push the air into their child's lungs to keep breathing as the moon healed them. The shadows arouse from the ground and provided a shield and hiding place so no other could harm them in there time of healing.
