Those lime green eyes flickered through my vision as Ghost and I fought for dominance over our body. Our head was pounding from the headbutt as we stumbled from the cabin and over to the side of the building to hold our body upright. Why did we have to let her get to us like that? She has never pissed off Ghost that badly before. She had no idea what she did to us...she was our everything...our world.

A low growl left my lips as I won dominance over the body, though that didn't stop Ghost's last movement which was to punch the wall beside us. I glared down at the blood staining my knuckles, a soft curse leaving my lips as tears threatened my lids. Ghost and I had just left her in there with two demons who were set on killing her and hell knows it won't be a swift death.

"You had to fucking order them to kill her, Ghost?" I yelled, punching the wall again.

She's strong enough to fuck them up, she wouldn't be ours if they could easily kill her. He mumbled back, voice sounding bored though I knew he was still brooding underneath. If she is who we believe she is to us then for once she needs to prove she's a worthy mate.

"Fuckin' hell, Ghost, nothing will ever come out of our crush." I seethed. "She may be our Amicus Ad Aras..." In Latin the phrase translates: A friend as far as to the altars. When the crush had developed, that was the most fitting nickname. Ghost and I had thought that she would be there in our lives until we could permanently lock her down at the altar. She was our forever, but shit changed and it was hard turning those old emotions off when I should hate her. I should hate Harlow. "She made that fucking clear that she wanted nothing to do with us when she left us for them."

His laughed echoed in my head and I needed to do something with myself before I fucking punched the damn wall against and broke my hand, if it wasn't broken already. With that said, I pushed myself forward, stomping away from the cabin.

I didn't make it far because the door rattled with a loud thought and then another that broke through the wood. Out came tumbling one of the demons Ghost had ordered to make the kill, except he wasn't breathing. Our girl had made the kill and I was torn between being pissed and proud as she stepped past the sharded wood, a sweet yet wicked grin on her face.

"You just killed two of my best men." I cocked a brow at her as I felt Ghost's pride well. She's our perfect little monster.

I smirked at his words, but tampered the reaction as I waited for Harlow to answer me. Her demeanor had changed and out came the hunter buried within her. She always seemed to hide that side of her when Ghost and I were around, yet there were times like this she let the truth shine and remind both of us just how much of a badass she truly was.

"They were kinda weak for your best..." She stared at me for a moment. "Riorson," There was a small sigh that left her lips at the realization. "They didn't stand a chance against me. Once my hands were on them, they were goners. And, if you don't step out of my way, yours and Ghost's fate will be the same."

I watched her, though I did not move. "They were my best and in all honesty I don't see how you made it out of the cabin in one piece." I looked her over. "No scratches, color me impressed, Amicus Ad Aras. Or should I say, little monster."

"If you want to use that nickname, should I start calling you, your highness." Harlow mocked.

"Fuck you." I snarled, stepping up to her as Ghost pushed for control once again. "Go ahead and kill me, I don't give a fuck anymore. I won't fight you on this, but if you really wanna use my title you should know killing the prince of demons will be a death sentence to you and your people."

"You're not the only one here with royal status. I am the princess of hunters, next in line to be queen. Your demons could retaliate, yes, but what do you think the hunters will do? We are very capable people and just because you threaten me if I kill you doesn't mean I can't threaten the same of you." Her laugh was bitter, her head thrown back as her eyes lit with a challenge.
