Kierra's POV
"One Vietnamese coffee, miss"
In the cozy corner of our favorite campus café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the animated chatter of students unwinding from the day's demands.
Sir Mike was right, this year is bloody. I haven't had a good night's sleep since this school year started. We are practically like zombies because of the workloads that we have.
"OhhH Vietnamese girl is back!" Kai said, yawning.
It's been two months since the class started. Of course, as a senior, we should be aware and prepared for all the practical activities.
"I don't think I can survive without coffee right now" my eyes are sleepy, we are here at the school's café, waiting for our Ely gurl.
She is now running at the faculty, passing her activity to Ms. Maricar, our English and American Literature teacher.
The deadline was this morning but she was late, she said she fell asleep again after taking a hot shower. She must've been very tired.
We are all tired.
"How's your novel going?" Kai asks.
I sighed, "It's so so so hard. Because of the workloads for like 8 subjects I'm having an author's block. I need an inspiration and I have a lot of questions!"
I want to focus on Sir Mike's project but I can't think creatively right now. I want it to be perfect and flawless. I want him to be proud.
"Rest your mind, let's unwind later! We deserve fresh air!"
"Yeah, I think that will help me a lot." I took a sip of my coffee and stare outside the glass wall. "What about yours?"
"Uhm same as you, but mine is half finished."
"hay" we sigh in sync, our faces marked by the telltale signs of sleepless nights and looming deadlines.
"Anyway, can you believe the amount of topics we have to review in Ma'am Chel's subject?" Kai groaned, slumping back in her chair. "I swear she's trying to make us all drop her class."
Yeah, I remember, after all those activities-- next is our preliminary examinations.
"Tell me about it," Ely sighed, popping out of nowhere rubbing her temples as if trying to massage away the stress. "I even got deductions from Ms. Maricar"
I just chuckled, though my eyes mirrored the same exhaustion.
"I can't remember the last time I had a decent night's sleep." Ely cried like a baby.
"Sleep? What's that?" I joked, stirring my coffee with a straw absentmindedly.
Our table was erupted by a sympathetic laughter, the sound a brief respite from our collective stress. We exchanged stories of missed deadlines, chaotic schedules, and the absurdity of it all, finding solace in the shared struggle.
"Anyway gurl, did you saw Sir Mike in the faculty? I haven't seen him since this morning" I asked.
"Hmm, nope. I didn't notice him in the faculty."
I just groaned, burying my face in my hands. "I miss Sir Mike so much. It's like there's this giant void...
"One Blueberry Tea, please!"
