[ MOVIE 2 - THE PRINCESS DIARIES: ROYAL ENGAGEMENT ]

[ CHAPTER SIX ]

ALL OF US WERE IN MIA'S CHAMBERS, spread out across her bed. Mia was in the center, laying down while she hid her face in Michael's chest. Lilly was on her other side while Sebastiano laid on the end of the bed. I, on the other hand was laying down against the headboard, my arm outstretched to give Mia a few pats.

"Gwyn," Mia softly began to speak, lifting her head up slightly and I hummed, "Why is Nicholas so against you? I thought you two were best friends."

"'Were' being the keyword, Mia. We haven't actually spoken much in years, only for our birthdays and to wish each other a good holiday." I revealed to my cousin with a frown on my lips as I stared up at the ceiling

"I heard Nicholas and Aunt Clarisse earlier in the kitchen." Sebastiano offered up information and all of us lifted our heads towards his direction

"Apparently since you've been gone for a few years, Viscount Mabrey, believes that you have forgotten your people, that you don't know the Genovian's anymore." Sebastiano hastily revealed more and I widened my eyes in shock

"How could he say such a thing?! I was born here, I went to primary school here. I am a true Genovian!" I exclaimed angrily at the words that Viscount Mabrey was spreading to Nicholas

"Nicholas pointed out that you didn't even study university here, and so, haven't spent much time here like you should have." Sebastiano muttered afterward but we all heard him and I huffed, throwing myself back down

"You'll make a great ruler." Mia assured me even though we had all been here to comfort her and I smiled weakly at her direction

"You're smart, caring," Lilly started to list my qualities before Michael interrupted her, "Everyone knows that, Lil."

"Do they? Cause apparently I'm not even a Genovian anymore." I threw my hands over my face, my voice muffled but I knew they understood me

"You know what I think?" Michael asked me and I hummed, "I think it's time you remind them that you are Genovia's rightful heir. That you haven't forgotten them."

We all sat together at the round table, listening to Anna perform up on stage. From the corner of my eye, I could see Mia who sat on my right grinning widely at the performance. After a few more seconds of her singing, she ended it and immediately, I clapped followed by the others around me as she bowed.

"What did I just listen to?" I could hear our resident band member, Michael, ask his sister from their spots behind us

"Opera's new rising star, Anna Netrebko." Aunt Clarisse introduced Anna to the crowd once she made her way to stand beside her with me following her

"Looks good enough to eat." Anna joked as I handed her a pear shaped statue for her performance and she smiled at me

**GENOVIA'S LOVERS**

"How are you grandchildren, Lady Eloise?" I asked the elderly lady before me with curiosity, "Willy, Charlotte and Sam."

"They're wonderful." Lady Eloise praised and I grinned, "Thank you for remembering. I know Sam was  just a baby when you left and now he's almost 5."

"Oh, I could never forget them. After all, their mother was my partner for my sister-sister program when I went to primary school." I reminded the older woman and she grinned, nodding her head
