[ MOVIE 2 - THE PRINCESS DIARIES: ROYAL ENGAGEMENT ]

[ CHAPTER FIVE ]

I WAS IN THE LIBRARY, HIDING AWAY IN A QUIET CORNER as Sebastiano bursted through the doors without a care in the world. I looked up at him from my books before shaking my head, hoping he wouldn't notice me. However, my prayers went unanswered because he immediately spotted me, and rushed up to me.

"Oh! Gwyn!" Sebastiano called out loudly and I sighed, slamming my book shut and putting it down beside me

"Shhhh!" I hissed at him, throwing him one of the pillows that couch I was sitting on held and he caught it before it could hit him in the chest

"Shhhh!" Sebastiano hissed back at me, throwing the pillow back at me, "I just came here to tell you that Andrew's plane took off. He said that he'll call as soon as he lands in London."

"He won't be gone for long." Sebastiano still kept his voice quiet as he neared me, "Why am I whispering?"

"I'm hiding from you know who." I informed him with a sigh and he raised an eyebrow at me, glancing around at my empty surroundings

"Viscount Mabrey?" He asked me in a low voice and I cracked a smile before shaking my head, "Nicholas."

"Ahhh yes, Draco Malfoy." Nicholas assigned a character to Nicholas causing me to laugh before I quieted down once more

"I'll go scour outside to make sure he doesn't come in." Sebastiano nodded his head to himself, also hurt by Nicholas' betrayal to fight for the throne

"Thank you." I thanked my older brother and he gave me a light kiss on the forehead before he walked towards the doors to leave me alone

I closed my eyes as I heard the door close and let myself fall back onto the couch with a heavy sigh. I threw my hand over my eyes before feeling the cooling metal of the ring hit me on the side of nose and I opened my eyes to take another look at the ring. I snapped out of it when I heard whistling coming near me, and my eyes followed the noise to see Nicholas step out from a couple of bookshelves.

"Yet,  he's been here all along apparently." I muttered to myself in disbelief as he made his way to stand in front of me

"Are you having second thoughts?" Nicholas asked me, as if nothing had happened between us and I sat up properly

"No, I was just admiring the ring." I told him as I gave him my hand so he could see the ring, "It belonged to Andrew's grandmother. He's so romantic."

"Now if you excuse me, I have some wedding business to attend to." I made my way to stand up properly, taking my hand back away from him

I was about to move around him to walk away when he took a couple of steps to the side to block me. I narrowed my eyes at Nicholas before moving onto his other side to swerve around him but once again, he blocked me from moving forward. I took a deep breath, and looked at him in the eyes, taking everything in since we hadn't been this close since Mia's celebration.

"Can I help you?" I asked Nicholas softly, tilting my head and he raised an eyebrow down at me before taking a small step back

"You've been avoiding me." Nicholas stated and I raised an eyebrow back at him, scoffing at his words

"I have not." I immediately defended myself from his accusations but we both knew the truth but didn't say anything

"Our last proper discussion was during our dance." Nicholas reminded me but before I could even make a remark, he continued to speak, "May I remind you that we only danced for a few minutes."
