Chapter 1 (A new case)

"Chuuya, come here." Chuuya saw up from the files he was just going through. Yosano smiled at him and symbolized him with a wave that he should come to her.

She seemed to want to give him a message because she still had her phone in her hand and you could see her list of calls on the screen. Probably someone had called her.

Chuuya looked uncertainly at his files and then back at Yosano. He knew that Kunikida wouldn't be thrilled if he didn't work through the files the same day.

His work colleague was a man who lived according to his ideals and had a very strict schedule. He hated it when it was messed up by something or someone. But Chuuya couldn't be punished for helping a work colleague.

If he was honest with himself, he needed a break anyway, as he had been going through the files for hours that simply, at least it seemed to him, did not want to become less.

Kunikida just had a lunch break and spent it in the fresh air to stretch his legs.

He wasn't there anyway, and even though he had said that Chuuya should not work on any more cases for the rest of the day and should simply focus on the elderly, he got up and went towards Yosano, which he actually preferred to avoid, as she was feared by the whole agency (except, of course, the children).

Let's put it this way: She was the doctor of the detective and as effectively as she could heal wounds and fight diseases, the more unpleasant her methods were.

"Ranpo asked for your support in a case." "Wait, what?!" Chuuya was completely taken by surprise. Why should Ranpo, who was so great at solving cases, want his help?

Chuuya thought hard. Actually, there was only one situation in which he could imagine that Ranpo asked him for help, he needed his ability.

Upon the tainted sorrow, that's what Chuuya's ability was called, it was considered the most powerful ability in the agency, because he could, thanks to his ability, control gravity, of every living being and every object. And all this only through a simple touch. This included him himself, he could make himself heavier and lighter, fly and drastically increase his speed.

What kind of case was that for which Ranpo needed his ability? Probably to protect something, as Chuuya's ability was of course very suitable for this. Actually, it was useful for everything in terms of the physical.

Yosano turned around and smiled at the boy with white hair. "Atsushi, you should come along too." "What? Uh-, ok." Atsushi looked a little shy, but immediately got up from his chair.

Chuuya could understand Atsushi just too well, after all, the boy had only been hired in the detective department for a week and was still a little unsure how to behave. When Chuuya also had just started working here, he was just as insecure at the beginning as he is. However, he soon realized that he was surrounded by very friendly people.

Chuuya had found Atsushi at the river when he and Kunikida had been looking for a tiger that had made the area unsafe.

Atsushi had been starving and Chuuya had invited him to eat something. It came out that he had been the tiger. Chuuya was very impressed by his ability. But turning into a tiger was now simply impressive...

Chuuya tore himself out of his thoughts, because Atsushi was already out the door.

Chuuya was on his way to the museum where there had been an incident. The afternoon was nice and warm and sunny. Not a single cloud was visible at the sky and Chuuya was traveling at a fast pace. Next to him ran Atsushi, who looked quite cheerfully.

He probably also had to get fresh air, Chuuya thought and could already discover the museum where something had apparently happened.

However, Chuuya stunted when they reached the museum and he could only discover a few pedestrians. That didn't fit Ranpo at all.

"There is almost nothing going on here... That doesn't suit Ranpo to investigate such a case." Atsushi seemed to have had the same thought as Chuuya.

Chuuya couldn't resist a grin, because he knew his friend, he was very childish for his age but incredibly smart. Chuuya didn't know any other person who could analyze cases as quickly as Ranpo.

As suspected, the appearance clouded from the outside. There was an incredible amount going on inside. Countless police officers and security guards ran around. They all seemed tense, but not in panic.

Chuuya was looking for an explanation of why there was so much going on here, when nothing had been stolen here in the end, he recognized this by the fact that not a single trace safer was here.

But he had a guess pretty quickly. Presumably, some trace of Ranpo had been found that something will soon be stolen.

"Chuuya" Ranpo's voice echoed through the halls of the museum. "Hi Ranpo-san!" "Ah, Atsushi. How are you?" Ranpo grinned his usual mischievous grin and looked at the two.

Chuuya sighed, as always he had no chance to read Ranpo. He was simply too skillful in not revealing any information through his facial expression. "Good, thank you very much Ranpo. And? What will be stolen?" "Huh?" Atsushi looked confused.

"Sharp as always Chuuya! You're right, the eye of the deep sea will probably be stolen here tomorrow night."

"I understand, that's why there are so many security guards here. Isn't this an incredibly valuable gemstone?" Atsushi asked and could see an impressed facial expression on Chuuya's face.

"You're right Atsushi." Ranpo's grin became even wider, "He is exactly: 1,721,869,964,599,609.50¥ value."

"I guess we should take care of him today?" Chuuya asked and looked at Ranpo. He was just smiling.

It was clear, when he came back to the detective agency tomorrow, Chuuya would surely get a big standpani from Kunikida.
