Chapter 3 - Lunch Drama

Throwing everything in my locker, I rushed to meet Julie and Fylnn. Finding them at our usual table with the guys and ugh Carrie is there too. As Julie, Fylnn, and I reached the table we gave our usual hugs to everyone. But I skipped Luke. He frowned, and then his frown turned into jealousy when Chad came over and hugged me and I didn't pull away fast enough for him. "Hey everybody this is Chad he is eating with us today," I said and sat down. "Just today? What does a guy have to do to eat with you every day?" Chad asked with a cute smile on his face. I blushed so badly that everyone including Carrie started laughing. "So cheesy," Luke said with a death stare at Chad.

Chad just smirked at him. He knew Luke was jealous. "She is worth being cheese for," Chad said giving Rochelle a close side hug. Rochelle blushed and gave Chad a quick kiss on the cheek. "How cheesy does a guy have to be to get some lip action," Chad asked Rochelle in her ear, making her turn tomato red. Luke was getting pissed. He wanted to make her blush like that. Carrie saw how down he was and kissed him on his lips. Rochelle saw that and her flushed cheeks went icy. She stares at Carrie like she wants to kill her. "Ok, practice this afternoon don't forget we are doing Rochelle's new song she just wrote today," Julie said, and Fylnn nodded in agreement. "Cool can I sit in on rehearsal I haven't heard you sing since our 7th grade recital," Chad said hoping he could finally hear Rochelle sing again. "Well I wasn't planning on singing it but ok, sure. It's been a while since I sang my songs. Be at Julie's at 4:30 today." Rochelle told a very happy Chad. Luke on the other hand not so much.

"It's a closed rehearsal. Carrie's not even invited." Carrie looked at Luke like he was crazy. "Not like that babe, it's just a close practice and rehearsal all the time. I don't see why it has to change now." Luke said trying to ease Carrie's mind and his. "Why do you want it a close rehearsal? Mr. Malina is always at our rehearsal even when we tell him not to. But ranted it was his house so big exception. Chad can come and we can go for ice cream and pizza my treat after," Rochelle said to Chad while looking at Luke. "Fine whatever do what you want I'm out of here see you guys at rehearsal," Luke said as he walked off with Carrie trailing behind him. "What was that about?" Rochelle asked everyone. "Don't play dumb Elle you know what that was, we all do. Let go do damage control," Alex told Reggie who was feeding Fylnn some of his pizza. "That was kind of unfair Roll," Fylnn and Julie said together which made Rochelle think. Ice cream and pizza were Luke and my thing. Maybe I did go too far.

I will talk to him later. Chad, Julie, Fylnn, and I kept eating lunch when Luke, Alex, and Reggie came back to the table. "Hey Roll can I talk to you for a minute," asked Luke with a seriously sad face. Rochelle looked at Flynn and Julie then at Reggie and Alex that were nodding their heads yes for me to go. I looked at Chad who was waiting for me to answer just like Luke was and I got up and walked away from the whole table. I dumped my lunch tray and went to the bathroom. She knew that Luke could still poof but he wouldn't go directly into the girl's bathroom. Everyone at the table was left looking confused. Mostly Chad. Luke walked towards the girl's bathroom to try and talk to Rochelle but Chad was on his heels. "It's obvious bro she doesn't want to talk to you," Chad told Luke upset. "Why are you so caught up on what Rochelle and I got going on," Luke said with his known-for smirk. "Or what you don't have going on," Chad returned the smirk.

"How about you both and let us handle it?" Fylnn and Julie said together as they pushed passed both Luke and Chad who were staring deadly stares at each other. But backed away from the girl's bathroom far enough just to let the girls in. As they waited they couldn't help but feel bad for Rochelle. The girls finally found the stale that Rochelle was hiding in, they opened it and she was crying. As her friends, they couldn't help but feel for her and the situation she was going through. "Why are you crying, you have two great guys fighting over you and your attention. I wish I had that," Julie said with a genuine grin looking between Fylnn and Rochelle. "It's not as good as it sounds. I like both of them. Just one more than the other. Can any of you guys make sense of why I like a ghost boy who went cold on me when we could finally get together? Explain that to me and I will stop feeling sorry for myself.

Both girls looked at each other confused. "Why are you still worried about Luke? Don't get me wrong I love the guy but Chad is trying so hard and you're not meeting him halfway. Luke chose up and he chose Carrie. None of us liked it but he did. So now you have a guy out there fighting for your attention the question is are you going to stay moping around over Luke or try something new with Chad? Either way, Julie and I are here for you," Fylnn told Rochelle. "You're right, I'm going to see how things go with Chad. I hate it when you're right," Rochelle said as she went to the sink and washed her face that had dried up tears on it. Then Fylnn, Julie, and Rochelle walked out of the bathroom.

"Are you ok," both Chad and Luke asked at the same time. Rochelle looked at both boys and then back to Fylnn and Julie. She decided at that moment that she loved Luke but she was going to change her course of dating to Chad. "I'm fine, thanks for asking," she said but kept her focus on Chad. "What to walk me to Class?" Rochelle asked Chad but Luke walked forward. "I was talking to Chad, Luke I will talk to you at home or after practice and Chad will be sitting in on our rehearsal tonight, bye." She grabbed Chad just as the bell rang to go to the fifth period of the day, leaving Luke with a stunned face and the girls holding in their laughter.
