Walking to the diner and getting a booth Rochelle sat down while I made an excuse to go into the bathroom. I was feeling nervous I didn't think I would've gotten this far. So after I threw some water on my face and wiped it with some paper towels I walked back over to Rochelle. Sitting across from her she just stared at me. So I decided to break the silence. "Hey," I said getting back nervous. "Um, Hey. Are you as nervous as I am?" Rochelle asked. "Yea, just a little. Not sure why though. I'm usually good at this. I guess I like you more than I thought," I responded with a wide smile. Rochelle smiled and moved some hair out of her face. While she yelled at herself on the inside about being here on a date with Chad all the while loving Luke.

"I didn't know you even knew I existed. I mean you never talked to me until this year. What changed your mind?" Rochelle asked in all seriousness. "To be honest Rochelle, you're not the approachable type. And with Fylnn and Julie always around didn't help. Then you were always talking about Luke and the band, you just seemed out of my league." Rochelle was shocked to hear Chad say she was out of his league. "What are you thinking so hard about?" I mean you are so more enthusiastic with your friends, but with me, it just seems you are somewhere else," Chad said not happy about how his actual first date ever was going.

"Your right I apologize about that Chad can we do this another time? Am not really into it tonight," Rochelle said feeling sorry about hurting Chad's feelings. "Don't worry about it. Just as long as we can have another date sometime whenever you're ready. I waited this long I can wait a little longer," Chad announced not meaning it. But he knew where her head was it was with or on Luke. "You want me to walk you home or do you need time to think about me?" Chad said with a smile that made Rochelle smile and giggle a little bit. Which let Chad know he still had a change with her. "I will walk home. But you can come if you want," Rochelle replied making him laugh as they got up from the booth and headed back towards Julie's.

"So Rochelle, don't get mad or slap me for asking you this. But what's going on between you, Luke, and Carrie?" I asked her wanting to understand what she likes so much about Luke. Rochelle's face went from thinking to heartbroken quickly. "You don't have to talk about it if it hurts you that bad. I just wanted to know what he has that I don't. Because I like you and I can honestly tell you that you would never be second choice to me." Rochelle looked at Chad. She saw a different side of him that he doesn't show in school around his jock friends or any of the girls he dated in the past. "Honestly, right now at this moment nothing," Rochelle said with a shy smile on her face.

"Just know I will treat you better. Because you deserve better Rochelle you need to believe that and when you do I want to be the guy you come to," I told her in all seriousness. "Thanks, Chad. You're right I should move on. And I'm glad you asked me out tonight. I really needed to hear that and you're the only one to say it except Alex but he doesn't count right now," Rochelle said laughing which made me laugh. Walking and talking some more on the way home to Julie's I got to know Chad more. We both like the same music, some of the same movies, and even the same books. Which is weird a jock liking books is not right, right.

Getting towards Julie's sidewalk Rochelle saw that everyone was still in the garage. So I walked her halfway to the garage before I turned her to face me. She looked so beautiful under the moonlight. " So, your home. I want to do something please don't slap me. If you don't like it we can try again later, ok?" I asked her as I moved her hair away from her face to behind her ears. Then gently pulled her face to mine and kissed her. Which I think she liked because instead of pulling away she deepened the kiss. When we finally pulled away, she hugged me then a peek on the cheek, and went into the garage with a smile on her face.

Walking home I felt that my chances with Rochelle were higher than her being stuck on a guy that didn't want her. Getting home I texted Rochelle saying I had a great time and I can't wait to do it again if she wanted to. "I had a great time too, Chad. Do you want to be my date for our showcase on Saturday?😀" I couldn't believe she asked me back out so soon. "Hell yea, wouldn't miss it for the world sexy girl," I responded to her text. "I like the sound of that. Being your sexy girl, lol" Rochelle texted back. "Well, I have an early practice tomorrow so I will see you tomorrow?" I said feeling good about getting Rochelle. "So, is that an invitation to watch you practice?" Rochelle texted. "Always, but you know only girlfriends go to our practices right," I texted back.

"I know," Rochelle texted back. "What are you saying? Do you want to be your girlfriend? I mean I'm not complaining. I just want to make sure this is what you want." Rochelle took a while to text back then said, "I will see you at practice tomorrow so do your best to impress me," I smiled, when I saw the text and was happy I finally had what I always wanted. I just hope nothing goes wrong with us because I like her.
