[“I'm the world's youngest hero…I don't think,” he paused and blinked slowly. Aizawa sat beside him across from the female worker asking the questions. “I don't think I can afford love yet.”
Aizawa nodded, “we've given our lives for other people-”
“And they'll always be something more important than whoever we fall for…it's a bad idea.” Izuku ended and Aizawa nodded again.
“That makes sense, that being said, what about Quirk Marriages? They're just starting to hit mainstream and has shown a huge influx in lowered housing prices and a decrease in inflation.”]
….he couldn't afford lov-her phone dinged, she flipped it over, “I'm coming in.” Izuku texted her, and she just barely heard the door open over the Air Conditioner.
Her heartbeat skyrocketed, he'll be here for the rest of the day. “I brought food!” She heard him yell deeply from the kitchen, and Tooru didn't get up immediately.
She waited, but hadn't heard anyone else. The others were gone, she didn't have an audience for her play.
Slowly, she placed her book and pencil down and pushed the cover off of her. She turned to the right and slid down off the bed. Her jogger rolled up her legs, introducing them to the cold and breeze filled air.
She bent down and put on her socks and slippers. Standing up, she spread her arms and stretched. Tooru stopped soon and then she walked to her door.
The knob was cold, like a popsicle when the heat it out. Her fingers grasped the copper door know and pulled it open. Her eyes caught his room, closed with the lights off, he hadn't walked down here yet.
She turned her sights down the hall, and looked…it was empty, empty and dark. He was shuffling in the kitchen, with a goal, she hurried down the hall.
“Hey Tooru.” Izuku said as he put away groceries in the fridge. Sliding in a crate of eggs, a large jug of whole milk–ingredients. She stared at his back. “I got…Zaxby's, Hawks said it was his favorite so I'm trying something new.” He didn't look at her, she tried hard with her clothes.
He'd probably call her cute if she tried to act hot. Not that she will, not that she could. He can't see her, she can't see herself. “Do you need help?”
“Not really, no,” vegetables filled the bottom fridge cupboards as he slid in zucchini and squash. “I’m pretty much finished, actually.” He turned around towards the sink and picked up the bags and put them beneath the sink.
Not caring to tie them all in one. He stood up with a slight grunt, took towards the cabinets and pulled out a wooden cutting board and set in on the counter. He took out a knife too.
Onions and such, other vegetables were left out.
Finally, he looked back. Looking at her sitting on the other side of the bar staring at him. He smiled, “sorry to show up late, Rumi was pretty adamant that we stop at her house to help her with things.”
Tooru nodded, “it's okay,” she looked down at the granite countertops and played with her hands in her lap while shaking her feet back and forth. “I was okay alone.”
He didn't reply immediately, until he did. A soft sigh as he shook his head, “I really shouldn't have left you alone,” he took a cabbage and washed it in the sink. “It was a mistake on my part, Keigo reminded me,” he forgot about her.
It's normal, “it's okay.”
Izuku frowned and cleaned the leaves, “no it isn't.” He turned the water off and set the wet cabbage on the cutting board. “You're not healthy,” but why does that mean anything? “I knew that.”
