VIII- Shirabu / bonus pov / Semi

I got a concerning message from Semi.

Oh? Okay Semi. Are you okay?

Is he okay? Why do I need to bring Yahaba? What's going on?

Shirabu and Yahaba's DM's

You free right now?

Yahaba
Yeah, just studying. Why?

We need to go to the hospital
Semi's request

Yahaba
We??
Like, the two of us?

Shirabu
Yeah. I'm not sure why, but I'm worried.

Yahaba
Okay, let me change my clothes and I'll be right over, meet at your dorm?

Shirabu

I stand outside my dorm, pacing, waiting for Yahaba. I don't know what's happening and I'm horrified.

I see Yahaba after what seems like years of waiting, but I know it's just my anxiety. I quickly urge for him to follow me and we walk quickly out of the building and make our way to the hospital.

"If Semi's hurt, I understand why he'd want you there," Yahaba says and I nod, "But I don't know why I'm going. If it was for emotional support, he'd say Taichi." I nod again and continue walking.

The cold September air brushes against my skin, it's sharp. My hands are freezing, my feet are cold, but I need to walk faster. I need to make sure Semi's okay. But why Yahaba?

We stay silent until we reach the Hotel, and we see Semi waiting. He looks tired. It's 6am on a Saturday and we were out late last night. Did he get any sleep?

He looks up and he seems almost relieved to see me. He gets up and hugs me. Tight. Like I can't breathe kind of tight.

"Okay Semi, I think you can loosen up a little." I say through shallow breath and he loosens up a little, still hugging me and burying his head in the crook of my neck.

"Is everything okay? What happened?" I ask when he finally pulls away. He takes a deep breath.

"Last night, after our date, I was sitting in the living space with Kuroo, Bokuto, and Akaashi. I didn't see Kyotani so I assumed he was out doing something or asleep." Oh no

"But I was wrong. I found him passed out on the floor with a pill bottle in his hands, he overdosed." Yahaba's hands go to his mouth and his eyes start watering. Mine do as well, I can't imagine being in Yahaba's position.

"Is he okay?!" Yahaba asked, clearly holding back sobs.

"The doctors said he'll be okay, but he hasn't woken up. He has a steady heart beat and his breathings normal." I take a good look at Semi— his eyes are red and puffy, his dark circles are darker than usual, and his hair is all ruffled. My poor Semi.

I look over at Yahaba as well, he has tears streaming down his face and I go over and hug him. He hugs me back and he breaks down. I pat his back and tell him that he's okay, he'll be okay.
I can't believe this happened... what happened?

"Can I see him?" Yahaba asks and Semi nods.

"Just go tell the lady at the front desk," he whispered "I'd lie and say you were his boyfriend. She didn't let me in when I said I was his friend, but I wanted you to see him."

Yahaba nods and walks away, surely enough, he starts walking towards the room with the lady at the desk.

Semi and I take a seat and he grabs my hand. "Did you get any sleep?" I ask him, he looks at me.

"No, I didn't. I might've been asleep for an hour and I woke up. I don't want to lose Kyotani. He's one of my best friends now." I nod and it's clear he's about to start crying again, he puts his head on my shoulder and I play with his hair, messing it up even further.

I love you, Semi.

Yahaba's pov

I walk into the hospital room and I see him laying there, face up, arms on his stomach. His arms have scars, both new and fresh. The new ones are patched up and I start crying right there and I go up to him and look at his face.

He looks just as mad as he always does, but he still looks relaxed. I take my hand and put it on his cheek, caressing him.

"Kyotani..." I say before I officially break down and put my forehead on his chest. I've never cried this hard. I have tears and tears streaming down my face, my throat is burning and my sobs have hiccups. I'm not a pretty crier like Oikawa is.

"'Mmmmmm" I hear from Kyotani and I looked up, his eyes are slowly opening.

"Yahaba? Where am I?" He asks, clearly confused. He tries to sit up but before I can go get a doctor, I wrap my arms around his neck and sob even more.

Semi's pov

"Kyotani is awake. You two are free to go see him." My eyes widen as the receptionist smiles at us. Shirabu and I stand up and I speed walk to his room and open the door to see Yahaba's arms around Kyo and his arms around his waist. I feel like I'm intruding.

"Are we interrupting something?" Shira says before I can say anything else Yahaba looks back and nods his head as a no. Yahaba tries to get up but Kyotani pulls him closer and buries his head into the crook of his neck.

"I go and take a seat next to the bed and Kyotani looks at me, it's clear he started crying. I smile sympathetically at him, "how are you feeling?"

"...bad." He responds and his grip on Yahaba tightens.

"Bad physically?" Shirabu asks and sits down next to me.

"No." He's quiet and he shrinks into Yahaba's touch. "I'm sor-"

"Hey, don't apologize. I'm just glad you're okay." I cut him off, I don't want him to apologize for this. He looks away again and starts sobbing, Yahaba continues to comfort him. They're cute together, and I think Shira agrees because he's looking at them and smiling.

"I'll come back later, okay Kyo?" I say and he nods. Kenji and I make our way out of the hospital and he takes my hand in his and pulls me a little closer.

"Are you okay, Semi?" He looks up at me and asks.

"I'm better knowing that Kyo's okay, I'm just confused. I'm glad I found him, if I didn't then who knows where he'd be right now." I look at the floor and I feel my face heat up, I feel my eyes water and I feel my throat clench.

Kenji starts to cling to my arm and he leans on my shoulder. "Let's go back to your dorm and tell Bokuto and Kuroo, okay? This is good news. Let's focus on that right now." I nod and we make our way back in silence.

I'm okay, I have Kenji with me.

Added Semi's pov at the end from the next chapter because the other chapter starts off poorly :)
