"No! Stay, im bored, come on im not so bad get to know me, i dare you."kai said with a slight whine and a smirk.

My thought momentarily jostled amongst themselves, trying to decipher the best possible course of action. On one hand, I was incredibly bored myself, after spending all day alone in my room. On the other hand, boredom might be better than listening to Kai ramble on all night.
"You're thinking about it." He smirked. "If you were going to leave, you would have left straight away, but you paused."
I suppose I could have one conversation with him.

"Fine, I'll sit down here for a little - "
Kai's obnoxious smirk interrupted my thought.
"- but if you mention sex, even once, I'm leaving."
Kai nodded, his grin still wide.
"So, lia," Kai started as he sauntered through to the living room, "tell me, what's your boyfriends name?"

I was honestly hoping for conversation a little less Tyler orientated, but too run down to protest, I decided to humour Kai.
His name is Tyler."
Kai threw himself on the sofa before replying. I settled down on the other side of the sofa, maintaining a safe distance between him and I.
"Tyler." He repeated. "And tell me, what's so great about Tyler?"

I cocked an eyebrow as my lips began to curve at Kai's sudden interest in my social life. "What's so great about Tyler?" I repeated through a giggle.
Kai smirked and his deep blue eyes began to fixate on mine. "Well, there must be something great about him since you rejected me."

My eyes practically rolled into the back of my head. I softly shoved Kai's shoulder as I chucked.

"You're so full of it."

He softly chortled to himself, holding his shoulder in mock pain where I had shoved him.

"Here's a question for you Kai." I started, "You've been in here what, eighteen years?"
He nodded slowly in reply.

"What's the most interesting thing you've done?"

Kai hummed, his eyes attached to the ceiling as he mentally recounted, what I'm sure is a long list, of weird things he's done since he got here.

"I went to the Oval Office, and I took a ton of pictures looking all JFK, and then I was like wait, how am I even gonna develop these?" He began, his face contorting in a number of expressive ways as he spoke.

"Ooo!" He gasped. "This one time, I drove down to DC, to this place where they had an actual guillotine, and you know..." he motioned his finger across his throat, fake dying.

I remembered how he had miraculously come back to life the other day as we were about to escape. The place must be rigged so he can't kick the bucket.

"So, you can't die?"

"Nope. Dear old dad wouldn't have wanted me ending my sentence early. It isn't all bad though, I don't age so I'm eternally hot." He teased.
"So, you're stuck with that face forever?" I taunted.
He narrowed his eyes at me.
"Ha ha." He blandly responded.
"You know lia," He started, kicking his feet up onto the coffee table, "I think we could be friends."

I raised my eyebrows, as a scoff pushed through my nostrils.
"Oh, you do? I mean I don't usually make friends with maniacs."
"Woah, maniac is way harsh." He countered with offence. "Slightly angry at times, but I'm completely sane."

"Slightly angry, is punching your pillow, not killing your family."
"God, I'm sure you're no angel. Vampires literally eat people to live." He shot back.
"And yet, I've never killed anyone." I said proudly.
Kai's eyebrows raised, his forehead wrinkling.
"Never? Hmm. Fine you get a pass on that one."

Honestly, being sat across from someone who had killed four people a few years back would have definitely startled me more, but since I'm now surrounded by supernaturals, I often find myself in the company of killers. Many of our friends had gone through extremely dark periods in their immortal lives, often as a result of flipping their humanity switch. Thankfully, with the help of their loved ones they always managed to get back on track no matter how long it took and sought to right their wrongs. The difference with Kai was, he seemed to genuinely feel no remorse. He appeared to have no desire to be redeemed.

As my overworked brain tried to analyse Kai, I noticed my eyes starting to get slightly heavy, since I hadn't slept that great last night. With my blinks becoming lengthier and more laboured, I figured I had accompanied Kai for long enough now, so I stretched into a big yawn as an out.

"I'm kinda tired. I think I'm gonna go take a nap."
To my surprise, there was no protest from Kai. He simply nodded, giving me a half smile as I started to walk towards the doorway into the hall.

Just as I reached the frame, I heard him call my name.

"Julia?"

I turned back, waiting for the rest.

"I'm glad damon left you and not bonnie." He smirked.
At that i walked back into my room. I hadn't even thought about it like that, damon did kinda choose bonnie over me. That was the last thing on my brain before i fell into a deep sleep.
----------------------------------------------------------

"Damon!, Bonnie!" I screamed from the cave as they left me in a white flash of light. "welp looks like all that's left is you..."
kai said with a distant look in his eyes, he almost looked crazed. it scared me. then all on a sudden he comes towards me with a wooden stake. "kai, what are you doing? Your scaring me kai!" I said as I got up preparing to run. "This is your fault Julia! they would have taken me with them if you weren't such a bitch!" kai says as he continues to advance towards me.

"What are you even talking about kai!, I was fucking trying to get everyone out of this hell hole!" I screamed with tears now streaming down my face. "No! you planned this didn't you, took one for the team? being stuck here with the abomination siphoner?" kai screamed now about a foot away from me. " kai please stop your scaring me, I wanted us all out of here, you deserve a second chance!" I said, my voice wavering. "I don't care! Your gonna pay for what you did! " Kai said with rage burning into his eyes. I try and make a run for it but before I can get away kai takes a hold of my wrist. It feels like the life is getting drained from my body. I cry out in pain from the burning on my wrist. He brings up the stake to my heart while siphoning from me. "good bye lia..." he whispers in my ear before staking me in the heart. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
----------------------------------------------------------

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" I get woken up by a disheveled looking kai in the dark, I look over to the clock and is says 3:00AM.

"lia wake up, you were screaming, pretty fucking loud, are you okay?" he says with a concerned expression. At first when I see him I jump still scared.

"mhm I'm fine it was just a bad dream." I say as I realize how dry my mouth is. "are you sure you fine cus your looking at me like I just tried to murder you or something?" kai says in a joking tone now sitting on my bed. Only if he knew. " uhm yea I'll be fine I just need some water."
I say about to move to get some but before I can he offered, I said yes so I could take a second to think about what the fuck just happend. It was just a dream, I'm okay, kai didn't just kill me I'm okay. As I'm finishing that thought kai walks back into my room with a glass of water, I mutter a thank you as I sit up to drink it.
"Do you wanna tell me about your dream lia?" kai asks in a surprisingly soft and calm voice, it almost calms me down instantly.

"no, not really" I mutter as tears come to my eyes, kai puts his finger under my chin making me look to him. He then takes his thumbs and wipes the tears from under my eyes. "Okay, I'll be in my room if you need me, just come get me I wont mind lia." kai says softy as he stands up to walk out. Right as he's about to pass my door in to the hallway,

"Kai?"

I mutter, honesty shocked he could hear it.

"hmm?"

he hums.

"can you stay with me, at least until I fall asleep, or you don't even have to honestly its oka-"
I ramble but kai stops me "Yes, I stay with you lia." he says with a soft smile. "thank you" I mutter mesmerized by his ocean like eyes, it wasn't until then I realized what he was wearing, he was in only boxers, and shirtless. Im surprised when he doesn't make a comment about my accidentally gawking and just comes to the other side of the bed and gets under the covers, but keeps a respectable distance between us. There was just silence until, I scooted more into him with my back against his chest. There was a few more moments of silence until he put his arm around me and pulled me closer. Only then I mutter "good night kai" "good night lia" kai mumbled.
