The next morning, we woke up to the sounds of the howling wind. It was then only me and my siblings decided that today would be a rough day. We decided to leave the room only when we covered ourselves in multiple layers, socks, gloves, caps and even scarves. Stepping outside the room felt like going outdoors. We went downstairs, shivering all the way, even Mom and Dad were covered in layers. Mom told us that she had been waiting for the 3 of us as the tea would get cold within minutes. As much as I wanted to not believe, Mom was right. The moment she gave us boiling hot tea, it started to cool down within minutes. We quickly drank our tea and decided to set up our small picnic inside the living room once again. However, this time, we were not enjoying, we were working. Mom made us some soup and salad for breakfast. After breakfast, we started to set up our fort of pillows and blankets. Everyone was inside the fort and the heater was providing comfort inside the fort. Inside, Dad was attending to some emails, my bro was working on a project, I was taking my lecture, sis was doing her school homework and Mom was preparing a vegetable stew with bread. Unfortunately, we forgot to grab some essentials so we decided to go out on a scavenge hunt for the necessary items. Everyone was in a rush as we all wanted to get inside the castle once again as we didn't want to stay outside the reach of the heater. I couldn't see what others were grabbing, however, when we returned, we showed what we had brought. In summary, we brought an electric kettle, some water bottles, some glasses, snacks (mostly chips and biscuits), stationery, and chargers. I nearly forgot that we literally had a charging port near our fort. Big bro asked Mom if we had any electric appliances, to which Mom replied with a yes. Bro suggested that the next time we would leave our fort, we would bring in those electric appliances so that Mom could cook inside the fort without having to stand out in the cold and near the stove. That way, no one would have to leave the fort and we could enjoy the stew altogether. Some might say we were lazy but it was only due to the freezing temperatures. We stuck to the plan, mom made us lunch while inside our fort, well partly in our fort. We didn't want our fort to get stained by stew. The warmth from the heater and the warmth from the boiling stew were just what one could hope for in this cold snowstorm. After lunch, we finished our work and took a nap together and inside the fort. The moment we woke up in the evening, Dad told us that we must stretch ourselves as we had been sitting all day. We hated the suggestion but we gathered our courage and got out of the fort, after a good stretching for 10 minutes and a cardio session, we started to get sweaty. It was then that we decided to take a shower. When it was my turn to shower, I could see the steam coming out. The moment I turned on the hot water, I felt like heaven. My body felt like it expanded. My muscles felt like they were moving to the flow of water. However, my heavenly experience was cut short when I turned off the hot water. I quickly dried my body and wore my clothes. I got outside and sat right in front of the heater. Soon, we all gathered once again in the living room, in the comfort of our best friend's heater. Mom cooked some pulses that we enjoyed with rice and bread. The pulses brought a kick of flavour after the warm shower. We decided to finally head back to bed and as usual, me and my siblings were talking and playing before going to bed. We wanted to change into our night suits, but we were afraid of catching a cold. So, we decided to place our woollens in a place that is accessible within our reach while being covered under the blankets. We finally dozed off and called our day.
