The next morning, the moment we woke up to the sounds of a common alarm. We all were shivering despite being under the covers of warm blankets, sweaters, and heaters. Big bro decided to peek outside the window. My sis and I decided to join him too and we witnessed the sight of a frozen ice age. Everything is covered with snow with barely any sights of the end of the streets. Big bro and I wanted to open the window and remove some of the snow covering but sis insisted that we shouldn't as it will end up cooling the entire room. We left the scene and went downstairs where Mom and dad were waiting for the 3 of us for a warm morning tea. Both, the parents and children were surprised to see that we were joining the tea while covered in sweaters and blankets. We thought that it was only us who was feeling too cold, in reality, it IS cold for everyone. Mom and Dad started deciding the plans for the day. Dad asked me and big bro to help him get rid of snow in the front yard. As much as we wanted to refuse, seeing Dad determined to protect us from snow encouraged us to help him. So, the three of us went to work. After returning, we continued shivering. So, we sat right in front of the heater and Sis was upset because we were blocking her heat. Mom suggested that we should not take proper baths and just wash our hands and faces. That way, we will reduce the chances of getting a cold and as per the guidelines, no one would be present at clinics. Even after washing our hands and faces, we felt like the entire cold winds attacked us. Luckily, our woollens and heater once again came to the rescue. Mom has decided to make vegetable sandwiches, a warm and healthy meal during this cold winter. As per the guidelines, at 10 AM, essentials were waiting for us at a nearby street corner. Dad went out to get the supplies. The storm calmed a bit but situations will worsen by night. People were coming out on the streets sending a ray of hope of survival in this snowstorm. We were not alone in surviving this threat; we were all together. Dad brought in the essentials and my sis, as curious as ever, started unpacking the packets. Inside the packets, there were bread, milk, rice, flour, batteries, a flashlight, some basic medicines and a first aid kit. After unpacking, we decided to huddle up in the living room, in the warmth of the heater, and do our respective. Dad and Big bro were doing their job work, I was studying for my college semesters, Sis was working on her school projects and lastly, Mom was preparing for lunch. To everyone's surprise, the sun started to shine. It wasn't much, but still, it was enough to provide us a respite in this torturous weather. We gathered near the window and enjoyed some sun rays. Mom has decided to cook pasta with garlic bread. Sis decided to help her out. After what felt like an eternity, we had our delicious lunch. Warm meals in the beam of sunlight were just what we needed. Thanks to the sunlight, some of the snow melted, making it easier to traverse through the streets. We all have decided to take an hour-long nap and then continue our survival. We thought the weather would remain the same but to our surprise, when we woke up, the weather became violent again. It felt like the sun never shone today. We again turned on our trusted heater and cuddled with our sweaters and blankets. We decided to play some games again. That day was not that special. Mom decided to make wraps for dinner. We had some juice left that we enjoyed with the wraps. After the exhaustion of today, we decided to head to bed early. Sis was scared of what would happen if our house got buried under the snow. Big Bro comforted her and she went to sleep. Soon, me and bro went to sleep.
