Serena finally decided to unpack and organize her very boring, empty dormitory.
She had had so much free time in the last couple of days because the students didn't have any real homework yet as it was only the start of the year.
The girls had told Serena that the Mystica got so many new students each year that the real homework started usually the day exactly one month had passed. Sometimes when not as many new students came they would get homework a little bit earlier but of course they still had homework just not as much.
Unpacking all of her stuff took quite some time and she thought it was so exhausting to organize all of her things as she was an extreme over-packer. So not long after everything was out of the boxes Serena changed and snuggled under her sheets.
Serena had a hard time to fall asleep that night. She had way too much going on in her mind. From thinking about if her uniform would smell the next day and what they would serve for breakfast in the morning to what new book she would borrow from the library next or if the homework would be as hard as everyone said it was.
Serena's mind just wouldn't shut off and her eyes were just wobbling back and fourth. But finally after quite a long time she somehow managed too fall asleep.
Of course Serena was so focused on falling asleep that her mind slip from the important thing. She forgot to close her window. Late August right outside of London is supposed to be quite warm but sometimes the nights could get a bit cold and very rainy.
Serena was woken up by the sound of dripping water. She didn't immediately open her eyes as she still wanted to sleep but when she realized that the window was still open and it was probably raining into her dormitory that couple of hours she was asleep Serena quickly opened her eyes and jumped out of her bed.
But to her surprise she was no longer in her dormitory instead Serena was in some kind of long tunnel. Maybe even one of the Mystic-lore's long and creepy corridors. But why was it so cold? And why was there water dripping from the ceiling?
Serena was standing barefoot on a big pool of water up to her ankles. Other than water being inside of the castle nothing felt different except for this weird feeling Serena had at the back of her neck. But it could also just be a sign for her to go back to bed.
Serena used to sleepwalk as a child so as any other person would think she just thought that she sleepwalked into one of the long corridors in the castle. But that still didn't explain why there was water on the floor.
Serena slowly started to walk back to her dormitory. She walked and walked but it felt like she didn't move at all and everything looked the same as in the beginning like if she had just walked in circles that whole time.
Serena felt stuck. Like if someone or something wanted her there but she just shook that feeling off and kept on wondering around in the ice cold water.
Something started to feel very odd as she kept on walking. That strange feeling she had just grew and grew with each of her dripping steps. The water just kept getting colder and colder like at the bottom of the ocean.
There were no mirrors. This time there were no mirrors. On one of the walls of the long corridor that she was in there usually hanged two large mirrors. They were missing. The mirrors were missing.
That's how Serena understood that it was just a dream. Just a sweet little unharmful dream.
For some reason this dream was nothing like her previous one and she quickly understood that magic was involved because she had the same exact feeling like at the Woodshines just that this time she felt safe. She didn't feel any harm around her and she didn't see any unusual floating color auras or symbols.
Serena knew that she didn't have much of a choice right then and there, she just had to wait it trough but Serena didn't want that feeling she had in the beginning getting back to her. She needed to find a way out as quickly as possible if it even was possible so instead she sat down onto the wet floor and waited and waited and walked a bit and then waited even longer.
She sat there for what felt like an eternity. Just stared deep into the never ending corridor with her eyes wobbling back and forth. Maybe she had to fall asleep to escape that place.
Suddenly in the corner of her eye Serena saw some kind of dark figure. At that point she wasn't sure if it was just a shadow or some weird kind of thing. But when it started to grow bigger and bigger she realized that it was moving towards her.
She threw open her eyes and saw this really tall dark figure in the distance wearing a long pointy hat, that almost looked like a witches hat with a long black coat.
For some stupid reason Serena got up and decided to follow that person along the corridor as it turned back around.
The person walked extremely quietly almost like if it some top secret spy or something.
It walked into a room, a room that Serena had never seen before. But she also hadn't been at Mystica for very long so she usually saw doors that she had never opened and all of them looked the exact same.
A wide brown wooden door with an old school metal handle.
Serena considered her options before choosing one of them.
Option one, walk into a room with a total stranger that might have as well been some psycho witch or option two, walk away from there, back to where she was before.
But of course Serena chose option one as it was only a nightmare and nothing bad could actually happen to her.
So she pushed the heavy door that led her into a tiny dark room.
Serena quickly walked back out of the room and grabbed a torch from the corridor so that she could light up the room and actually be able to see anything at all.
The room was absolutely empty, the person had vanished and inside wasn't something Serena was used to seeing. Because from what Serena had counted there were hanging exactly thirteen presumably dead ravens from the ceiling.
As she took another step away from the door frame and into the room she suddenly felt someone tap her shoulder.
Serena slowly turned around facing the person with a pointy hat, their faces were only a couple of centimeters away from each other.
She realized that the person was a lady, probably in her twenties. She had short coiled hair up to her shoulders and dark tan skin.
For some reason Serena felt like they had already met but she didn't remember when or where.
"Boo!" The lady yelled out laughing with an annoyingly scary laugh while staring into Serena's soul, which made her heart stop for a minute.
The exact same second Serena woke up with this disgusting feeling in her stomach, like if something was cooking. First she didn't understand what it was but not even two minutes later she was running to the girls bathroom covering her mouth both both of her hands.
Of course Serena didn't go to any of her classes that day but she still went no the corridor she was inside in her dream. She needed to find that door and check out the wicked witches room.
That's what she called the weird lady with the pointy hat, the wicked witch.
Serena was almost ninety nine percent sure that what she experienced was just a regular nightmare like any other. But that one percent somewhere inside of her still wanted to make sure.
