Aisha lay curled up on the bed, her body trembling as the cold air of the room brushed against her wet skin. The pain from Veer's assault lingered, both physically and emotionally. She hugged herself tightly, her mind reeling from the events of the evening. She had expected Veer to be upset, but his rage and brutality had taken her by surprise, leaving her feeling more vulnerable than ever.

As she tried to compose herself, the memories of the gala replayed in her mind. The grandeur of the ballroom, the glinting chandeliers, the elegant attire of the city's elite—all seemed like a distant dream now. The weight of the information she had gathered from Rajat Malhotra felt heavy in her clutch bag, a reminder of the dangerous game she was playing.

Aisha slowly rose from the bed, her muscles protesting with every movement. She made her way to the bathroom, wincing as she caught sight of herself in the mirror. Her dress was torn, her makeup smeared, and her skin was marked with bruises and red welts. She gingerly touched the sore spots, a tear escaping her eye as she recalled Veer's cruel words and actions.

Turning on the shower, Aisha stepped under the warm spray, letting the water wash away the remnants of the night's horrors. She scrubbed her skin, trying to erase the feel of Veer's hands and the pain of his bites. The water soothed her aching muscles, but it did little to ease the turmoil in her heart.

After drying off and changing into a fresh set of clothes, Aisha sat on the edge of her bed, clutching her phone. She needed to report her findings, but the thought of exposing herself further terrified her. She knew she had to stay strong, not just for herself but for the countless victims of the corruption she was investigating.

Taking a deep breath, Aisha dialed the number of her contact at the newspaper. She kept her voice steady as she relayed the information she had gathered, including the crucial details about Rajat Malhotra's illegal dealings. Her contact promised to publish the story as soon as possible, assuring her that her identity would remain protected.

After ending the call, Aisha felt a small sense of relief. She had taken a step toward exposing the truth, despite the risks involved. However, the fear of Veer's wrath lingered, a dark cloud over her every thought.

Just as she was about to lie down, her phone buzzed with a message. It was from her colleague who had invited her to the gala. The message read, "Be careful, Aisha. I've heard whispers that Malhotra knows someone is onto him. Stay safe."

Aisha's heart skipped a beat. The danger was real, and she couldn't afford to let her guard down. She knew she had to tread carefully, balancing her undercover work with the precarious situation at home with Veer.

As she lay down, exhaustion finally overtaking her, Aisha vowed to herself that she wouldn't let fear control her. She would continue her fight for justice, no matter the cost. But for now, she needed rest, to gather her strength for the battles ahead.

The morning sun streamed through the windows as Aisha prepared for another day at the office. She dressed in a simple, professional outfit, her mind still preoccupied with the events of the previous night. Veer's possessiveness had taken a toll on her, and she felt a mixture of dread and determination as she headed to work.

Aisha hailed a cab and made her way to the newspaper office. As she stepped into the bustling building, she tried to shake off the lingering anxiety. She needed to stay focused on her investigation and the crucial information she had gathered about Rajat Malhotra.

Upon entering the newsroom, Aisha immediately sensed a tense atmosphere. Colleagues whispered among themselves, casting uneasy glances her way. She ignored the stares and made her way to her desk, determined to continue her work.

Within minutes, her phone buzzed with a message from her editor, Mr. Sinha, summoning her to his office. A knot formed in her stomach as she stood up and walked down the hallway, her heart pounding in her chest.

As she entered the editor's office, Mr. Sinha's stern expression greeted her. "Aisha, have a seat," he said, his tone cold and unyielding.

Aisha sat down, her hands clasped tightly in her lap. "What's going on, Mr. Sinha?"

Mr. Sinha leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "The information you provided about Rajat Malhotra has caused significant trouble for the newspaper. Malhotra has retaliated, threatening to sue us and using his influence to damage our reputation."

Aisha's heart sank. She had anticipated resistance, but she hadn't expected it to escalate so quickly. "But, Mr. Sinha, the information is accurate. Malhotra is involved in illegal activities. We have to expose him."

Mr. Sinha's expression hardened. "It's not just about the truth, Aisha. It's about the consequences. We can't afford to lose our credibility and face legal battles. Effective immediately, you're fired."

Aisha's world seemed to shatter in that moment. She had devoted herself to uncovering the truth, and now she was being cast aside. "But... I did everything to protect our integrity. I..."

Mr. Sinha cut her off, his voice icy. "This is final, Aisha. Pack your things and leave."

Stunned and heartbroken, Aisha left the office, feeling the weight of her failure pressing down on her. As she walked out of the building, the reality of her situation hit her hard. She had lost her job, and the powerful businessman she was trying to expose was still at large.

Back at Veer's house, Aisha felt numb. She went to her room and took a long, hot shower, hoping to wash away the pain and frustration. The water did little to soothe her aching heart. Afterward, she put on comfortable clothes and made herself a simple meal, trying to gather her thoughts.

As she ate, her phone rang. It was her family, their voices filled with worry. "Aisha, it's been two weeks since we've heard from Sameer. Please, we need you to find him."

Aisha's heart sank further. Her brother's disappearance had been overshadowed by her investigation and her tumultuous relationship with Veer. She couldn't ignore her family's plea. "I'll do everything I can to find Sameer," she promised.
