CHAPTER II A Flower Blooms at Light

Hope has come for Asche, Germany, and the whole world as she and Eduard found a time travel device in the underground laboratory in Hamburg. Their first trip was worth it, and tomorrow would set their fate darker.

The duo went back to the treehouse in Berlin with a time travel device inside the small chest and other useful apparatus they found. Mainly it is used for boiling and heating to create "Nuclear Energy." They got tired from the excursion, especially Eduard finding the softest place to sleep, and went up to Asche's bedroom; he has the most delicate bed sheets to sleep on it. He immediately lay down on her bed, covered with his blanket. Meanwhile, Asche is still asleep at the motor tricycle wagon. She quickly climbed up the treehouse and went to her bedroom like a drunk woman never pays attention to any living thing she sees. Asche and Eduard are both asleep in one bed as a married couple.

When they left Berlin, they missed the war party. The Third Reich establishes a new oppressive regime to the minorities and non-Germans.

In the morning, it became peaceful without the pigeons. Asche woke up first, opened her eyes, and saw Eduard sleeping; she didn't notice after getting much-tired riding on her "Car" and then felt annoyed as she pushed him to fall in the bedroom. She doesn't want to sleep with someone as manly as Eduard. He felt a pain in his head, and somehow the fear of height from a floor with holes on it, he quickly crawls in backward looks at Asche wearing a sleeveless outfit throwing a pillow at him, and went out in her bedroom. He apologizes for sleeping in her bedroom.

Eduard looks at the window outside. He can see the smoke nearby the Reichstag; he goes down to the treehouse rushes to its location, realizing that smoke is the work of the Arsonist with a lot of people running away from it. He witnessed coming from that smoke the Fuhrer's newly armed group called the Schutzstaffel, who burns most of the books, the inventions, and devices from international students; some they kept were German-made. The Third Reich wants to erase all who oppose its superior intellect. The Reich burned the Berlin University of Science and Technology due to its foreign ownership in the Treaty of Versailles. Eduard lost his institution; what's sad is he can't graduate for at least five weeks. His apartment was foreign-owned, too; Eduard rushed back to his home, packed his things, and escaped as much as possible. Below the building, he saw Heinrich, now one of the Schutzstaffel members approaching the apartment wanting his vengeance for not taking what he wanted. He went to Eduard's Apartment, ready to burn his world down; he went to the door, opened and his crouch got kicked and run over by a luggage ride by Eduard. His Luggage has four wheels designed to transport like a scooter that you can sit to it. He went down the building and escaped along the way with armed men who tried to chase him and pass-through under the trucks and tanks; they lost their way and ignored him. His morning was safe from fascist hands lost his school, his home, and at least his things went not in flames. There were two choices to evade in today's political dystopia; Go back to the United States or live with Asche and continue to work with their time travel device. His injunction would be to live with Asche and the time-traveling.

Eduard went back to the treehouse, the only safe place in Berlin from the Fascists. Asche knew what happened to him, and she agreed to live with him only he continued to work their time travel device and was not allowed to sleep in her room.

The life of Asche and Eduard was usual for the past three weeks. The currency still becomes obsolete in Germany as Asche can buy ingredients in exchange for her jewelry, spices, and fruits. She can always cook food like a motherhood style. And Eduard continues to work to create another "Klaprothium Battery" for his time travel device; as he finishes containing and isolating the battery, he boils it overnight inside the furnace that warms through boiling water and steam to release its energy. Relationship with Asche and Eduard continues to improve despite the turmoil outside the treehouse.
