"Kaguya-chan... I think I like you" Naruto said as we were all having lunch.
I turned red! he liked me afterall! the gods decided to bless me!!
"do you...?" I asked sounding casually with a grin as he nodded. "no he doesn't, he just got rejected by Sakura for the 100th time this week so he wants to make her jealous" Sasuke glared as Naruto turned red
"ah I see" I played it cool shrugging "Kaguya-chan!! that's not true!! be my girlfriend!!!" he said clinging on my arm as Sakura groaned. "Naruto! don't mess with Kaguya!" she said as I looked at him clinging onto me.
"Naruto I'm not interested in a relationship" I grinned shoving him off and glancing at Sasuke that just rolled his eyes.
We didn't hang out much that month, Naruto was busy with his new sensei Jiraya while Sasuke was learning stuff with Kakashi.
I spent my free time with Sakura most of the time. "Kaguya... you like Naruto?" she asked with a grin. was it that obvious?! and anyway I wasn't so sure about the answer anymore... "I don't know to be honest" I shrugged "ah you'll manage to get your way with him! you are so pretty and talented anyway!" she smiled, no hint of jealousy. I smiled back.
"Sakura you aren't much different" I said as she smiled shyly. "I hope Sasuke-kun will notice one day"
I got home and trained some more, but all I could think about was Sasuke... He should socialise with the team more..
I trained everyday, till the day of the final phase of the chunin exam.
It didn't end the way I expected though. snake guy pulled a random attack to Konoha.. killing the Third Hokage.
Naruto was devastated, and if Naruto is devastated I am too.
afterall, the Hokage was the first adult figure to stand by my side after my mother died . . . "Kaguya-chan... I wanted to personally say I'm sorry for what happened.." Third hokage kneeled before little Kaguya, that shot him a glare. she never trusted any other adult except her mother.
"Hayami-san was... an incredible woman" he said with a smile while rubbing her hair
the thing is, he knew the day of her death would come, and so did Hayami.
"she left me alone so I could understand suffering..." she said looking down as he smiled
"you can't control fate Kaguya.. but if you want to know something, she asked me to tell you that whatever happens-" "yeah yeah... I don't have to cry" she interrupted him
"no... she said you have to remember that a part of her is literally inside you and it will protect you" . . . after the funeral I sat by a tree, touching the black skirt of my dress.
"Kaguya, the funeral isn't over you know?" Sasuke suddenly appeared "you always manage to find the worst moments to appear huh?" I said as he scoffed "it got boring so I left" I rested my arms on the back of my head
"cold as ever Kaguya..." he said smirking as I rolled my eyes "I never asked because I know you always snap when you get asked but... how did Hayami-san die...?" he suddenly asked.
he was right, whenever someone asked me those questions I would snap. But it was Sasuke, he knew the pain of losing loved ones even better than me.
"she's dead anyway... knowing how she died won't change your life" I said looking down while hugging my knees.
he scoffed. "I found my parents dead on the floor... stabbed in many points.. Itachi standing behind the dead bodies" he spoke quietly.
"I found my mother while she was leaning on the bed frame" I spoke without realising.
he looked at me and gave me a frown "it's pretty easy to make you talk afterall"
I decided to scoot closer to him, our shoulders pressed against one another. I usually feel uncomfortable doing it, but I needed some form of contact that day.
"in the end we wouldn't have become chunins either way" I chuckled as he stayed still "whatever.. I could stay a genin forever if I got to kill Itachi" he said
"Mama was an ANBU though...! I have to catch up!" I said as he squeezed my shoulder "and you'll become something more. just not today" he said as I blushed.
Not even Naruto was this gentle with me...
"shut up..." I looked down
"Kaguya.. have you ever thought of leaving this village?" he suddenly asked
