Soon enough the siblings along with Grace and Pogo were grabbing their umbrellas and moving back out to the courtyard. They all stood under their own black umbrella except for Klaus who had opted for a clear umbrella with a pink rim that was definitely meant for a child. As well as this Luther and Diego both decided they didn't need them for some reason. Charlotte suspected it had something to do with their egos.
It was almost like some sick deja vu as they stood together for yet another funeral in the courtyard. As she thought back to that day they stood around mourning the loss of yet another sibling her eyes drifted to the black statue of Ben that stood in the courtyard.
"Did something happen?" Their mother asked as they stood together in a line. Charlotte was stood beside Klaus and Five as she looked over to their mother confused at why she was asking that.
"Dad died. Remember?" Allison told their mother who only looked even more confused after hearing the news even though she been the one to find him dead. The siblings gave their mother worried looks as she agreed with what Allison said suddenly remembering. "Is Mom okay?"
"Yeah, yeah she's fine" Diego answered "She just needs to rest. You know, recharge" It was always clear to the siblings that even though their mother cared for them all, she was the closest with Diego out of them all.
Pogo leaned on in his cane with one hand as he stood beside Vanya and Luther, looking to all the Hargreeves making sure they were all ready. "Whenever you're ready, dear boy" he told Luther who was holding their fathers urn.
The only sound among them was the rain pattering against the pavement floor of the courtyard and on their umbrellas as Luther opened the black urn. They all watched as Luther stood in the middle of them all and emptied it out onto the ground.
To make the environment of the funeral even worse (if that was somehow possible) when Luther poured out the ashes instead of going off into the wind they simple gathered into a small pile on the floor.
Charlotte grimaced at the sight of the grey dust on the floor just sitting there. Klaus shared a similar look to her as just Five stared unamused at their father's remains.
"Probably would have been better with some wind" Luther said as he shared the same look of awkwardness with all his siblings.
"You think?" Charlotte asked "I mean look he's just sitting there" she gestured to the pile of ash in the middle of the silent group.
"Does anyone wish to speak?" Pogo asked them looking across the siblings. They all looked at one another thinking someone might break the silence but no one offered.
When Pogo looked over to Charlotte trying to make eye contact she quickly looked away down to the ground as if it were the most interesting thing. She knew is she met Pogo's gaze he would try getting her to speak about their father which was something she had no interest in doing.
