"How is she today?" I stepped into the infirmary, feeling deflated that Sheera was still laying alone in here. I tried to be with her as often as I could but being King makes that an annoyingly hard task to accomplish."She's been doing much better, your Grace. If she's willing, she may begin her life again past the walls of my office here." Leonard began.
I sighed a sigh of relief and approached her bedside.
"Sheera,"Her eyes fluttered open slowly, and she let a small smile slip upon seeing my face.
"You are not wrapped," she spoke sweetly. "How lucky I am today. To see your face."
I smiled back, watching her intently. She was so beautiful, she did not deserve this pain.
"I've missed you," I began. I took her small hand in mine and rubbed it, although I unfortunately could not feel the softness of her skin. She blushed, and looked down to our intertwined hands. "I've missed you more, trust me." Her voice came out like a whisper, so gentle and kind.
"I have to meet with some Lords in court today, my love. I may not be here to visit you that-"
"I will come with you, your majesty." She interrupted. I stopped myself and tilted my head slightly.
"Are you well enough? I'm sure you won't want to exhaust yourself emotionally." I asked concerned.
"I will do anything not to suffer another moment without you." She blushed again.
Her sweetness warmed my heart, how could I say no? But the topic of todays meeting, is a topic she will not wish to hear. Lord Beauchamp is coming to petition my marriage to his daughter, Lady Ashley. T'will be an uncomfortable day to say the least.
I snapped back into focus as I watched her grip my arm and begin to pull herself into a sit. I leaned forwards in an attempt to support her. "My lady- are you sure?"
She nodded. And without word started to stand, but from being in bed so long her legs were weak and shaky. She stumbled slightly, and gripped my robes and arms for more support. I wrapped my arms around her, keeping her upright. I looked down at her beautiful face and found myself getting lost in it. She was so beautiful, she had to have been sent from God.
"Sheera," I breathed.
She looked up at me, a sad weakness apparent in her eyes. So I pulled her closer to me, wanting to stay this close for as long as I was to yet live.
"Even in your saddened state, you are still the most beautiful woman I've had the pleasure of laying my eyes on." I uttered deeply.A hot flush crossed her cheeks and she rested her head against my chest.
"You flatter me, your majesty."
