Many years ago. In a small snowy village. A married couple wandered around as the man had his five months old child between his arms.

The baby was kept very warm in those layered clothes and blankets.

They were out because the sun was out, they did not mind the snow since the weather was always like that in their village.

"Hey Marc, Eliz, how is your baby doing?"

One of their neighbours asked as they walked past him.

"Doing well"

The father smiled, replying while showing off his little baby's red cheeks.

The wife's eyes were so light colored. As if she had some lavenders inside but they were fading away.

Eliz was blind. Many people fail to tell since she uses her other senses way too well.

All of a sudden, they heard a loud scream coming from afar.

Someone was running towards them.

"FIRE! FIRE"

Marc immediately handed the boy to his wife.

"Stay here, I will go help"

Marc was worried but he knew that his wife would be alright. She was way stronger than anyone else.

The man said as he ran with the rest of the villagers towards the burned cottage.

There was nothing to be saved.

Since that couple's house was built a little far from where everyone else lived. It took them a while to notice it.

Not until the sky became smokey.

The men did their best to put the fire down.

They ran towards the remaining ashes to check if anyone was alive.

They already found two burned bodies, yet they all knew the couple had a little child and they all started looking for him.

Marc got his hands burned while moving the house's remainings around, hoping he would find the kid.

After hours of looking, everyone gave up.

They thought he might have turned into ashes since he was barely three years old.

Yet Marc wasn't convinced.

He thought he should at least find a clue to prove that the child really died before he went back home.

While walking around, he felt something odd under his feet. His footsteps sounded different.

He was walking on something.

He started digging and found a small door. He immediately realized that they had a basement.

And tried his best to unlock that door.

Finally, it was wide open. He tried to jump in but the space was so small.

"Is anyone here?"

He shouted.

And sat quietly, hoping he could hear anything, just a breathing coming from there would have given him some hope.

There was a certain movement coming from down there. It was dark so he could not see a thing, but he felt it.

Someone was shaking down there.

"Let me help you"

Marc said as he let his arm inside.

"Grab my arm"

He then added.

Marc knew for sure that the child was there.
