                                                     How To Setup Your Account

This applies to everyone. Whether you have been on Wattpad for years and realized you now want to write but have little/no followers, or you just created an account 10 minutes ago.

When you setup your account there are things you need.

#1: A good background for your account. When people click on your username you don't want to seem like an ammature. It doesn't matter if you only have 3 followers, or the thing on the bottom of your page that says, "Joined 1 day Ago". You need a good cover photo. Tip: Get something from Tumblr. Although I don't go on it (I tried a couple months ago) the pictures are amazing.

#2: Get an amazing profile picture. Let it not be a cut out of your fridge or a random photo of the floor. It's better if it's there's an object/ person. If you want to put a collage, put that on your background. It's called a profile picture for a reason. If you're going to put your own photo, make sure it looks good. Slap some filter on it, use photoshop, just make yourself look good. (Not that you're not gorgeous already, of course.)

#3: Username: This is controversial but I'm gonna say it anyways. It's better if your username doesn't have numbers or dashes in it. Is it the hugest deal? No. But all these little things are what make up a good account. Make your username memorable but not complicated. "BaconIsLife" is much more memorable than "Caandyy236". You following?

People are lazy. They're much more likely to recommend a writer to their friends if their username is easy to say. Like I said, lazy as f. And I know it's hard to find a good username that's not taken, but do you want to get succeed? Then get your ass on the couch and spend 15 minutes thinking up a good one.

WARNING: If you already have a Wattpad account and you're thinking about changing your username be warned. Your account will be a hot mess for a couple of days. But if it's a good change, then it'll be worth it.

#4 Your About: The first thing Wattpaders do when they look at your account is not read your book, or message you. It's read your "About". So make sure it's funny, interesting, and most of all: friendly. Slap in a "Message me any time" or "I totally follow back" somewhere in there. Also make sure it's not too short. The longer (not too long) the better.
