                                                                   How To Get Reads

How many times have you heard "You will not get a 1,000 reads in one week"? Once? Twice? A thousand times?

I'm not going to yay or nay to that but I will say this. Reads don't come from how many people read your chapters, but more from how many times your chapters are viewed. This is the most important thing you'll get out of this: The more parts you have the more reads you'll have. It's as simple as that.

So maybe you won't get it in a week but think about this. Say you post 40 parts in one month. That seems like a lot but it's not really. I mean they have to be good quality but they can be a little bit short because there's so many parts.

So lets say from all the editing you get yourself 5 reads on each chapter. That's already two hundred reads! And lets say out of your 50 followers about 5 of them read it. There's a common mistake that people think: The amount of reads you get is the amount of people that read it. No! No it is not.

Lets say you post 1,000 word chapters. That's about 2 pages at least and 3 pages at most. One person that reads that chapter can get you 3 reads or more if they refresh it by accident or come back to it later. So those 5 people can get you 20 reads per chapter. 20 times 40 = 800 f-ing reads! WHOO BABY!

And this is discounting the people who will stumble accidentally on it, which is actually quite a lot of people. Most likely if you post that much in a month a hell lot more will read it.

So bottom line? Post considerably (good quality) and post consistently. Do not stop in a week or two weeks or even a month. Keep going it at it and I promise you, that after about three or four months of doing this, you will think that 100 reads on a chapter is disappointing.

There is a very sad side of Wattpad. There are so many ideas and stories wasted here. They are started and they start off magically and one day the author is suddenly poof! gone! All those characters and their stories, where do they go?

      ....so please don't do that?
