                                                   Beginning to Write Chapters

So now you have everything ready? Now is time for the hardest part: the actual book. There are many things I need to talk to you about this part so bear with me.

Before You Start Writing: Plan out your book! See? English class was good for something! Make a document and plan out the plot from the beginning to the very end. This way if you ever get stuck you'll at least know the plot so you can start from there. Also write the character's full names because starting a book can be hard. You main character can be Mariam in one chapter and Mary in another.

Before Publishing: have a couple chapters written already. Before you publish or update make sure you have at least 5 chapters. These chapters need to be 1,000-1,500 words. If you want to make them shorter just make sure to have more chapters. The shorter the chapter, the more chapters overall.

The First Time You Start: Don't only update one chapter. Most people will see the "One Part" and not read it. There are more unfinished books on Wattpad than hungry people in the world. You need to be more promising than a "One Part". Maybe do 4 chapters when you begin then upload one chapter per week after that.

Your Actual Chapter: Do not post chapter without reading it, re-reading it and re-reading it a thousand times over. For one chapter of my book in my other account I edit it at least 15 times. I swear to you I'm not lying.

The other thing is it gives you more reads. If you edit it maybe 2 times, it won't change. But when you keep editing maybe 10 times, you'll get about 4 reads. Which is amazing for a chapter that you haven't even published.

Just keep doing this. Write the chapter and save and preview. Read the preview and when you find a mistake go and edit it. Keep doing this until you absolutely hate the chapter because you've read it a thousand times. It may be tiring for you but it'll be worth it because when people read it they'll think it's perfection.

A couple of mistakes ones ( ;) ) in a while is okay. Everyone makes mistakes. But if it's every other word it'll snap the reader out of the visualizing and just get them annoyed. And this means what? They won't read it!

Chapter Music: Music is essential in chapters. Some people post photos but music is a lot more popular. For example I love listening to music when I read so I love it when books have a song in the beginning of a chapter ready for me than because then I don't have to go on YouTube, pick out a song, blah, blah. Like I said, people are lazy asses.

So get a song to go with your chapter. Make sure it matches the mood. Don't pick Blank Space when you're writing about a girl committing suicide. Actually don't use Blank Space for anything. It's not that I have anything against the song, but people have heard it so much that they're tired of it. Pick something fresh and good.

WARNING: Don't post all your chapters in one week and have nothing left over. Like I said before in the beginning update a couple of chapters at once but after that be consistent. Maybe do one every Friday or if you like to update often (your readers will love you for this after a while) do it on a Monday and Thursday. Or something like that.
