Sandra feels a heavy burden on her shoulders. The accusations of plagiarism haunting her team make the atmosphere in their studio tense and full of worry. In her small room, Monica stares at the stolen sketches with mixed feelings. She knows that the success of their work heavily depends on Sandra's collection for the upcoming New York Fashion Week.
That day, the atmosphere in the Oscar de la Renta boutique felt different. Gita, a loyal customer known for her meticulous selection, visits the boutique again in search of something fresh. As she walks past the main display, her eyes are drawn to a dress that stands out among the latest collection.
“Is this a new design?” Gita asks, pointing at the new dress with a head tilt, accompanied by a small glance that helps the employee understand what she means.“Good morning, Ma'am. Yes, this is indeed a new design from us,” the female employee answers politely, her heart pounding because this is the first time she has met a loyal customer of their boutique. Gita is highly respected, a high-class customer who can boost the sales of any boutique's design with a single post on her social media.
Other employees immediately become enthusiastic about Gita's arrival. One of them quickly connects a voice message to Ms. Lani's office. Without delay, the owner of the Oscar de la Renta boutique ends the call and hurries over, reminding her subordinate to provide the best service and maintain good manners. Shortly after, Ms. Lani appears with her signature warm smile. She greets her regular customers, having prepared countless strategies to win Gita over.
“Good morning, Ms. Gita, it's a pleasure to see you again. Is there anything I can help you with?” Ms. Lani smiles brightly, holding a dark blue lace-patterned fan in one hand.
Gita points to the dress that caught her attention. A knee-length rose-red dress with a V curve in the front and back, adorned with satin ribbons and a touch of lace to enhance its details. The dress has a full skirt, but there's no need to worry about it being blown by the wind when worn, as it includes safety pants. This brilliant piece is named “Lady in Red” because anyone who wears it will captivate onlookers, making it impossible for them to look away.
“I’m interested in this dress. Who designed it?” Gita asks without beating around the bush, knowing she has other places to visit today. Oscar de la Renta is already checked off her list, falling into the category of quality and variety. Next, she needs to head to the other places on her list.
Ms. Lani hesitates for a moment, but she knows it's time to reveal Monica's success.
“This is the work of our new designer,” she says with a broad smile.
Gita wants to take the displayed dress home, and all the staff immediately start carefully preparing to pack the expensive item. At that perfect moment, Monica appears, carrying a bottle of iced Americano she made quickly.“There she is, our new designer. Monica, come here. She’s very talented.”
Gita shows clear interest in Monica’s design and requests that Monica be called over.
