Christina stood on the dock of the lake. The lake looked beautiful. In the distance, on the other side, she could see the lovely woods and mountains.
She looked behind her. No one was there. She knew that no one would follow her. No one would miss her for a long time. She thought it was good that no one thought she was important or worthy. After a few days, no one would remember her. It was a relief, and she felt less guilty.
Christina knew she wasn't important to anyone in this world. No one depended on her. It was true that people only wanted her when they needed help. But those people could easily get help from others too. Christina knew she wouldn't hurt anyone by doing this.
So she jumped into the deep water. It was good that she didn't know how to swim. This would be easy and quick. How nice that no one would know she was missing for hours. Although she existed, it was like she didn't exist.
In this world, not everyone has a purpose in life. Christina was like that. She used to have dreams and hopes. But she had to kill all her dreams and hopes after realizing how weak she was. Whatever she did, nothing would work for her. It was like an invisible hand stopping her from getting anything she wanted or achieving her dreams.
There was a time she worked hard. But after trying so hard and being knocked down by this invisible hand, she didn't know what to do. For some years, she never gave up. Every time she fell, she started again. However, she was defeated and broken. She was tired. More tired than her age. When others her age got everything they wanted easily, Christina was still struggling to get even a little happiness.
One day, she was so tired and broken. She was lost. So she jumped into the water. She drowned in the deep, cold water. The only thing she thought at that time was, "Please God, forgive me. I tried so hard. But I failed. I'm so tired."
