Love Wins All?

"Ynie!", Taehyung looked at Yn and smiled.
Yn entered the room. Taehyung was sitting on a chair, tied up. Swollen mouth, cuts on lips, signs of extreme beating everywhere.
"Who did beat him?", Yn's voice was stern.
The officers present there were silent.
"I asked who the hell beat him!", Yn shouted.
No one has ever seen her like this.

"Senior officer Oh took the charge ma'am. He has beaten him.", a junior officer replied.
"Senior officer Oh!", Yn looked at him with serious gaze.
"Why did you beat him like this? Didn't the other officers tell you that I ordered not to touch him?", she asked.
Officer Oh felt irritated.
"Order? I'm a senior officer. Don't forget that. You caught the mafia. Your duty finishes here. Don't come in between my investigation now. It's my order.", he said.

"Officer Oh, it seems like you don't know my identity yet. I'm not an ordinary undercover agent. I'm Jung Yn, officer of special force. I only take order from chief. Other officers take orders from me."
Senior officer Oh startled at her words. Yn continued.
"I'll interrogate him. And if anyone tries to interrupt, it won't be good for them. Now everyone leave."

Everyone listened to her order and left the room. Yn turned to Taehyung and said, "I'm coming in a minute."
She left from there and went straight to chief.
"Chief, I want a permission."
"What permission Yn?", the chief asked.
"I want to interrogate Taehyung, alone, without camera."

The chief was surprised at first.
"Without camera? You know it's against the protocol.", the chief explained.
"I know sir. But I am requesting you to have faith in me. I'll explain you everything. But please, for now I need to interrogate him without camera."
The chief nodded.
"Okay. I'm giving you special permission. Just make sure, it won't create any kind of problem."
"Yes sir."

Yn went to the interrogation room with a first-aid box with her. She sat in front of Taehyung and freed him from the rope, he was tied up.
"They hurt you too much"
"It was their duty, Ynie."
"Beating you?"
Yn's eyes were moistened. She started to treat Taehyung's wounds. A lonely teardrop fell from her left eye. Taehyung wiped it.
"I'm sorry Taehyung. I'm sorry."

Yn hugged Taehyung tightly. Taehyung hugged her back.
"The brave, intelligent cop, who caught the most wanted criminal, which no one could, is crying now? Hugging that mafia?"
"Taehyungahh, I did my duty as a defender of law. I had to catch you."
"I know that, my love."

She treated his wounds.
"You've to stay here tonight. Tomorrow you'll be produced to the court."
Yn stood up. She pressed a gentle kiss on Taehyung's forehead and went from there.

Next day, Taehyung was produced to the court. The public defense lawyer presented many solid points that could prove him as guilty. After several sessions at court, everyone was almost convinced that he would get some exemplary punishment.
The judge gave another date for the judgment.

The night before the verdict, Taehyung was in the intelligence bureau custody. He was laying down there. Memories were rushing into his mind. Memories of Yn and him, their happy moments. Suddenly he heard footsteps. It was Yn.

"Ynie", he smiled and got up.
Yn sat beside him. Both of them were silent for sometime. Then Taehyung finally spoke.
"What's the date tomorrow, Ynie?", he asked looking at the wall.
Yn was still silent. Taehyung smiled sadly.
"Don't be sad, love. I'll except anything that will come as judgment tomorrow.", he stated.
"Tomorrow is the completion of six months of our wedding.", Yn didn't let Taehyung say more.

Taehyung looked at Yn as she said.
"You remember?"
"Shouldn't I?", Yn looked at his eyes.
Taehyung looked away from her.
"There is a box, kept inside the drawer in our closet. A black box. I bought it for you for tomorrow."
Yn noticed his smile to fade.
"You will give me the gift your own.", Yn stated.
"Will I get the chance again? Will I get the chance ever, Ynie?"
Taehyung's voice broke. Yn swallowed the knot forming inside her throat.

"You should get it. Or how will I give you your gift?"
