The moonlight shined brightful over King's Landing. Meya stood on her balcony enjoying the view while she could before going the bed. She heard a dragon roar and spotted how Aemond flew with Vhagar in the air. Vhagar was a dragon Meya feared the most. Mostly by the stories she'd heard about her and how big of a dragon she really was.

"Ser Finn told me about the dragon incident today" Rhaenyra's voice was heard from behind. Meya's lips turned into a thin line and closed her eyes as she heard the words. " How much of it did he tell you?" She questioned following Vhagar with her gaze. Her mother walked up to her side and followed Meya's eyes to the dragon in the sky. " Probably more than I wanted to hear" she said and placed her hand over Meya's to Cher her attention. "You could've been killed, Meya".

"I know. But here I am alive and well thanks to my 'beloved betrothed '" Meya let out with a sarcastic tone and chuckled to herself, leaning on the balcony railing. 'Beloved betrothed'.
That was her kind of nickname for Aegon now. She smiled over how ridiculous it was. She, who wished for not to be married to him has a nickname like that? And 'beloved' of all? How pathetic.

"I know this is hard for you, I truly am. But it may perhaps come out good of it all aswell" Rhaenyra said as she exhaled trying to reassure her daughter. She felt guilty of it all. She promised her one day that she would be married by love, and not by duties. But that was broken and too late to change it all. And that was something Rhaenyra would regret for the rest of her life for. For throwing her away her daughter's freedom of her own will.

" I highly doubt it, mother." Meya responded shortly. But in reality, Meya did indeed have hopes that things would turn out good. And that the marriage wouldn't be a tragic and boring one. She hoped that even how much she and Aegon disliked each other that they would somehow find a way to respect one another instead.

"I could get over with and kill the boy iff I have your consent"

Daemon. Her father.

Meya snorted and turned around to see her father leaning on the door frame looking at her and her mother. He approached and gave a kiss on her forehead and looked at her with a small smile. " And how much loving that sounds. I don't want my family some kind of war with the greens." Meya responded and chuckled with a huge smile on her face.

Later that hour Meya spent the time alone in her bedchambers. Her mother and father left to check on her baby brother's Viserys ll and Aegon lll. She sat infront of her mirror brushing her hair not hearing the door suddenly open and close.

"I always found your hair prettier like that"
Meya jumped by the voice that was heard from behind. "By the gods! You startled me, Aegon!"
He smirked and looked at her through the mirror playing with a small amount of her hair. "Loose, not in a braid or bun or anything. It looks more prettier on your" Aegon repeated as he stroke her hair. Meya's eyes were glued to the floor after reminding herself about the previous events that took place that day. Aegon noticed her face and moved away from her and walked over to one of the windows in her chambers. "I wanna be better than my father." He blurted out getting Meya's attention. She sighed and furrowed her eyes in confusion. "A better husband perhaps?..." he said softly as he looked out to the city of the small folk.

Meya stood nervously in her night gown with her arms crossed over her chest as she studied Aegon. A better husband? Meya rolled her eyes over the thought. She didn't believe him one bit. He might just say that just for her to be more loyal to him than her own family. She knew how much he despited them.

Her mother, for being his father's favourite child and daughter. Something he would never be.

Herself for being the king's favourite grandchild. For living in a household filled with respect and love. Something he quite never grew up with himself. Meya knew that Aegon knew that Rhaenyra would do anything for her to be happy.

"Are you just saying that to fool me, uncle?" Meya questioned the man before her by the window. Aegon chuckled to himself as he heard her say the words. He knew she wasn't going to believe his words. But he did really mean it. He wanted to be better. For her. Even iff she didn't want to believe it.

"Say something" Meya said that came out like a whisper. Aegon turned his head towards her and looked at her. The silence made Meya uncomfortable. And especially when Aegon didn't say anything. Aegon took a few step towards her and and looked her deep into her eyes. Meya returned the look to only flick her eyes to the floor. She could feel her checks turning red. Stop it, she thought. But her cheeks grew hotter and Meya became more nervous.

Aegon pulled Meya's chin up to make her look at him. His eyes landed on her lips for a moment. He shouldn't. He knew that. But he couldn't help it. He leaned in and pressed his lips onto her's making her shocked over his sudden decision. But Meya kissed him back.

Even though she thought it was wrong. It somehow felt right. Like this was how it was supposed to be. Aegon pulled her closer with his hand behind her head deepening the kiss. His other hand was around Meya's waist. Almost trapping her in his embrace.

Meya smiled through the kiss before she pulled away from him. Their eyes meet one another. Aegon smirked over her face expression. He placed his forehead against hers and closed his eyes. He somehow felt safe in her presence. Also a lot calmer than he'd ever been in his life. Meya pulled away from his embrace and took a few steps back. "I can't do this." She said shaking her head back and forth. "Do what exactly?" Aegon asked her taking a few steps closer only for Meya to back away.

"This!"
" you mean us? This engagement? That is a little late, Meya!"

Meya ran a hand through her hair in frustration. "How do I know that you won't fool me, Aegon? How do I know that you won't be visiting the street of silk that you've been doing since we were young?" Meya let out in frustration. She didn't wanna for him without knowing that he won't hurt her. She was to scared for it. Because she knew that once she fell.

It was going to be the end of her.
