Rhythms of hearts

THE plan

Sunday, 15 November 2020, 4.50PM

Lilith had been tirelessly convincing and begging Semi to perform at the charity concert, which was organised by a local community center.  She also promised the event organizer that Semi will be in the lineup of musicians that will perform at the event. However, Semi still refused to, he kept arguing back that such events will compromise his hardcore rockstar reputation and distract from his musical authenticity. He explained that it took him so long to build his reputation, he isn't going to let one event ruin it all. It took him three albums to get famous, or even hire Lilith.

Lilith was even more pressured, but she was persistent. She believed that Semi would give up in the end. So she planned each part of the plan meticulously, trying to get his favorite stuff into the event, his favourite bands, but nothing was working.

She kept thinking and thinking, until her head exploded. She searched Semi's room and the whole mansion to find clues to inspire her what to do that will convince him to go and perform. She was so close to giving up. Although the mansion is big and luxurious, it feels so empty. She walked past of the drawers that had the photo frames on top of it. She took a step back and finally had an idea. She was going to invite Semi's Shiratorizawa friends! Semi would do anything for his friends.

She searched the drawers for their numbers. It was on a small, folded note on the last drawer. She quickly got up on her feet and started to dial the numbers. Firstly, it was Wakatoshi...more like Ushijimas...he was married to Satori.

📚 : Hello?

🦅 : Ushijima residence, please state why you are calling.

📚 : I'm Lilith, Semi's assistant.

( 🃏 : Is that Semi-semi's cold hearted assistant? )

🦅 :  ( Yes, Satori. ) Now, back to you. What do you want?

📚: Well Semi is performing at a charity event at 'XXXX #XXXX' on 15 Dec at 8pm. Do come by!

Lilith had to lie first, then drop the bomb on Semi after calling all his friends.

🦅 : We'll be there, thank you for the useful information.

( 🃏 : Semi-semi will be performing! Hooray! )

The call ended there. Now, it was Goshiki.

📚 : Hello, I'm-

🔥 : ( Coach I got a call! ) Yes, Hello? It's Tsutomu Goshiki here.

📚 : *sighs* I am Lilith, Semi's assistant. Semi will be performing at the charity event that is happening at 'XXXX #XXXX' on 15 December, 8pm. Please come.

🔥 : That's all? Okay, I'll come.

Goshiki hung up the phone. He thinks the phone call was a waste of time. It was eating into his volleyball practice session time. Lilith grunted in frustration, she thought Goshiki wasn't manly and had no manners! Now it was time to call the other members.

After calling almost all of them, there was one left. Kenjiro Shirabu. Lilith hesitated to call him; she didn't want to invite him. Semi has a soft spot for Shirabu, once Semi hears Shirabu's name coming out of someone's mouth, Semi will immediately be engrossed in the conversation he wasn't paying attention to at first. Lilith called Shirabu. Shirabu didn't pick up at first. He didn't pick up for thirty minutes.

📚 : Hi, I'm Lilith, Semi's assistant.

📝 : Good evening, pardon me, I couldn't use my phone at work.

📚 : Whatever, Semi having a charity event at-

📝 : I don't care. Bye.

Shirabu hung up so fast. Now Lilith thinks Shirabu was even worser than Goshiki. She didn't even get an answer. She just slammed down the house telephone and marched over to Semi's studio.

She took a deep breath and opened the door. Semi was in the recording studio, singing his new upcoming album.  He spotted Lilith and gave her a soft smile. Lilith's heart melted. Semi signalled Lilith to come over to the inside of the recording studio. Lilith's heart was thumping. She had never been invited inside the recording studio. As she was about to open the mouth, Semi instructed her to get him a glass of water. She was disappointed, but continued to speak anyway, "Your friends are going to come to the charity event. So, if you don't perform, they are going to be upset with you." Lilith broke the news.

Semi's smile turned upside down. Lilith could feel the wrath from him, but she had to fight Semi's inner demon. Semi lectured Lilith and warned her sternly not it again. He turned away, flustered. "Is...Shirabu-chan going to be there...?" he asked.  Lilith rolled her eyes. She had to break the news that Shirabu didn't care about Semi's little performance. Semi asked Lilith to give him some space in the recording studio, so, Lilith left.

Semi continued to record his new song. He felt like something was off, so he decided to stop for the day.
