"I said medium well!" The familiar voice of Lucas Sinclair made Mallory look up from the pile of raw meat. It appeared that it was not only Lucas and his bike but also Maxine Mayfield and Aurora Cameron.
"Who are they?" Steve asked dumbly while Mallory walked over to Lucas and pulled him behind a car, with Dustin following her.
"You told her?" Dustin asked Lucas while Mallory looked between them both.
"So what?"
"'So what?'"
"You wanted to tell her too."
"But I didn't. I didn't tell either of them. We all agreed not to tell them and to look for Dart."
"Who you conveniently found."
"Are you suggesting I'm lying?"
"I'm saying you have a creepy little bond with him."
Dustin was about to say something before Mallory cut in, "Both of you shut up before I use my shadows on you."
Lucas looked at Mallory, "Have you heard from anyone?"
"No. We're with my sister and Steve Harrington. What do you think?"
They heard Maxine struggling, and both boys looked at her. "Max didn't believe me anyway."
"And Aurora?" Dustin asked.
"She said it didn't seem like a lie."
Mallory walked over to Aurora.
"Hey." Aurora quickly turned around.
"Mallory. Hi," Aurora said awkwardly.
"What did lucas tell you exactly?"
"That you guys fought a monster last year, and a girl named Eleven went missing saving you guys."
"Oh, okay -" Mallory was cut off by a slam on the car near Dustin and Lucas by Steve and Lucinda, observing behind him.
"Hey, dickheads! How come the only ones helping are Mal, this random girl, and Blondie?"
They started by setting up their abandoned junkyard, and they started to sit on the bus when Lucinda started to talk to Mallory quietly.
"You used your powers?" Mallory shook her head.
"Okay. Don't be afraid if you feel it. Let it take its course," Lucinda said, going back over to Steve.
"Lucas, what's going on?" Dustin yelled out to Lucas.
"Hold on," there was a pause, "I've got eyes! Ten o'clock! Ten o'clock!"
Aurora was looking out the window when Mallory pulled her back by the back of her shirt.
"Don't do that," Mallory reprimanded.
Lucinda is holding her pocket knife in her hand so tightly that her knuckles have gone white.
Mallory just watches Steve throw the lighter to Dustin and exit the bus making Lucinda panic.
"Steve? No, fuck!" Lucinda says, obviously stressed.
Two people turn to face Mallory, Dustin and Lucinda.
"Get ready Mal, otherwise, we're dead," Lucinda says.
Mallory nods and Max and Aurora look confused.
"What?" Max asks.
Lucinda sighs. "Mallory has powers. Now, focus, Mal!" Lucinda urges.
"How-" Aurora starts but is cut off by Mallory.
"I need to focus!"
Mallory keeps a steady eye on where Steve is. Mallory suddenly spots the demo dog and closes her eyes briefly. Steve looks at the demo dog in confusion as it's moving its head rapidly. "What is this thing doing? Someone? Anyone!" Lucinda rushes out and Steve looks at her.
"You're insane, Hart."
"I know that Harrington. Thank my sister that she blinded it."
"Oh, totally not weird." Lucinda slices the demo dog as it gets closer.
"Just focus, Harrington!" Lucinda says stabbing another demo dog.
"Watch out! Three o'clock! Three o'clock!" the noise of Lucas' raspy voice drew both older teens' attention to the way stated while Mallory just concentrated on the shadows but the shadows stopped their controlled movements and started doing volatile movements when Dustin's voice cut through, "Mallory passed out!"
Lucinda looked over to see Dustin holding Mallory as her body went frail.
"Harrington."
"Hart."
"We don't have the help of my sister. Ready to slash some supernatural ass?"
"Never been more ready."
More demo dogs come towards the older teens so they decide to run for the bus.
"Shit!"
"Are they rabid or something?"
"This is not what I meant when I wanted to hang out with my friends!"
"They can't get in! They can't!"
"Shut up! We've got our only useful person down. what do we do?" Lucinda asks.
More of the demo dogs slam against the bus. Dustin quickly places Mallory's head in his lap to speak into his walkie.
"Oh god. I'm dying today." Aurora mumbles pessimistically.
A few seconds later, Max starts to scream looking up at a demo dog while Aurora is just freaking out. The emo dog ends up retreating and Aurora stops her panicking.
"Okay." everyone looks towards her apart from Mallory who is unconscious. "What the hell?"
