"Everything seems to be normal, Captain," announced a humanoid alien, their voice steady and clear.
"Any power spheres on our radar?" you inquired, eyes scanning the control panel.
"No, Captain," the alien responded, shaking their head.
You let out a sigh and slumped in your seat, bored out of your mind. "Another boring mission, I guess," you mumbled, but it was enough for Aqua, your co-captain, to hear.
Aqua glanced over at you. "I know it's not the most exciting assignment, but we have to stay vigilant. You never know when something might happen."
You let out another sigh and closed your eyes. "I can't believe Commander Kokoci made me monitor planets instead. This job is so not fun! I practically got A+ in the TAPOPS exam!"
"At least you're not a TAPOPS janitor," Creatibot said as he floated towards the center of the ship. You sent the floating robot a deadly glare, feeling a surge of irritation. Clicking your tongue, you stretched and made your way to grab a snack when the main screen flickered and a notification flashed.
Stopping in your tracks, you immediately ran to where your co-captain was sitting. "What is it?"
"We've detected a signal. It's those space pirates again and they have a power sphere in their possession."
Your demeanor instantly changed, a huge smile making its way onto your face. "Finally!-ehem-I mean, how come we didn't get any signals of a power sphere on this planet before?" you asked, trying to mask your excitement.
"The power sphere's signal was dense. Should we call TAPOPS?" Aqua asked. When he turned to face you, he saw how your eyes were practically sparkling. Aqua didn't like this at all. He and Creatibot knew exactly what you were planning. "[Name], don't."
"I'll handle this myself," you declared, walking back to grab your disguise mask.
Aqua looked at you, concerned. "Captain, no. You already know that TAPOPS suspects you as a power sphere hunter with that mask on! You were lucky enough to outrun Captain Kaizo on your third attempt at this."
"Relax, Aqua. I'm only doing this because backup always arrives late. And besides, we're here, aren't we? I'm only going to save that power sphere and leave it there for TAPOPS to retrieve, easy as that." you shrugged your shoulders and put on your mask.
"Who knows when your luck is going to run out? You might actually end up being captured by Captain Kaizo or anyone!" Creatibot exclaimed, watching you scurry around, trying to pack some supplies and weapons to defend yourself.
"My luck never runs out," you confidently smirk at the Power Sphere.
"Don't jinx yourself," Aqua warned, but you ignored him.
